“Had to go back for another hot chocolate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

Found this great cafe on our first day, pouring with rain outside and pretty busy inside. A cup of hot milk, a pot of warm dark chocolate to mix in it, a dish of whipped cream to add to the top and, to cap it off, four chocolates to savour at the same time. Very friendly and efficient staff. Went back for another later during our visit - a must.

“chocolate and cake - what's not to like”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

We found this place through the visitor book of our apartment.

Really excellent hot chocolate, though possibly a little pricey. Maybe this is just by UK standards, but not comparing like with like.

It's not just hot chocolate in a mug, but a culinary spectacle.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Second visit this year to the superb cafe, opposite their chocoate shop ' Sukerbuyc' - chocs amazing.

Morning we opted for the hot chocolate, fresh cream, and chocs too , and in the afternoon returned for Tea and cake. Just superb in every way.

Service professional and courteous, and friendly too.

“Fabulous coffee shop worth a few visits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Visited twice on the strengh of other Tripadvisor comments. Just a lovely coffee shop with fabulous cakes, pleasant staff and a nice atmosphere.
You will also be tempted by the free samples of chocolate sweets they put on your plate from the other part of the family business the Sukerbuyc chocolate shop directly opposite. The chocolate isn't the cheapest in Bruges but is beautiful. Some of the other chocolate shops in Bruges offer samples and many taste cheap and nasty, believe me the Sukerbuyc chocolates are divine. See their website www.sukerbuyc.be/

“Just Wow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

I had read in the Eyewitness guide that this place made hot chocloate that was a bit special. They were right. I ordered the said beverage and expecting just a mug of hot chololate also ordered some apple cake.Let me tell you that the hot chocolate arrived on a platter. You get a mug of hot frothy milk, a bowl of creamy, dark, sumptuous chocolate, another bowl with cream, a little dish of chocolate florettes, and a couple of other chocolates (all made on the premises - the owners have a chocolate shop over the road). My goodness me. And then the apple cake (2 slices) arrived. I was beginning to wonder how on earth I was going to work my way through this lot. But it was heaven. Absolutely bliss. The hot chocolate (€4) was simply the best I have ever tasted. The apple cake (also €4) was moist and delicious. All I can add to finish is that the very next day I went back and repeated the experience and can tell you it was every bit as good on the second occasion.
