The guy was serving wine continuosly. We had still the glass full and he was opening already a new bottle (without asking!!!). Food was nothing special and little although he was spending a lot of time in talking and explaining what he was serving (I would say more words than facts). he was taking a lot of time to prepare one single dish; lucky that we were only in 7-8 persons in the whole restaurant. We stayed int he restaurant 3 hours. We spent 100 euros/each, we were still starving at the end of the dinner and completely drank.

Just returned from a week in November in Leuven where a table was reserved for dinner at restaurant Beluga for us. We believe this place gets good reviews because of their hospitality. The chef came to our table and was very nice to talk to . on the flip side, the place is small and uncomfortable . The food was not that fine. My fish was overcooked and dry

we did have a fantastique lunch with a perfect assortiment of wines (wine forfait). We did eat a tartare of thon and as main course see bass. The small restaurant was full (13). The chef Wim Janssens does do everything, proposing the menu, taking the orders, serving the wines and cooking into perfection. You get a nice explaination of dishes and wines even in English.

We had a superb meal at Beluga - amongst the best on a trip which also included fine dining in Firenze. The food was unique and finely prepared, the wines were beautifully matched and the service excellent. Beluga is a small restaurant (located off the old square), so would be best to book although we were able to get a table without booking on a Wednesday evening.

Wim understands fish. He cooks very subtle and elegant with a lot of care for his products. I don't like his lunchmenu, but the evening menus are to die for. We had scallops cooked on the plate, 2nd homesmoked halibut and to finish (I think) red mullet. His desserts aren't fantastic but I can forgive that. He has a sommelier degree, so the winelist is a real feast! Go there! And make a reservation because the restaurant is small! Only four tables.
