Visited for a couple of nights on the way to Germany. Despite having stayed in Belgium literally dozens of times before, it was the first time in Leuven and staying in a Martin's hotel. It must be said that both exceeded expectations.

Hotel is wonderful. Central yet quiet with large airy rooms and superbly decorated throughout. Excellent breakfast served overlooking the garden.

Nice bar and courtyard area for a quiet drink. Staff very professional and courteous.

All in all would definitely stay here again.

Together with my husband, we just stayed an overnight in Martin's Klooster Hotel in Leuven and we had a blast! It is a wonderful hotel that combines historical and modern vibe in the interior. We stayed in the superior room, which had a very comfortable bed, excellent air-co (very much appreciated during this hot weekend), excellent large bathroom with huge shower and hot bath. Room was spacious, tastefully decorated and helped us relax and unwind exactly as we hoped for. We were truly impressed with the service at the check in and check out. Both gentlemen at the reception made us feel very welcome and without even being asked gave an excellent tips on how to enjoy our stay the most (including some advice for sightseeing). They came across, as they care a lot for us to have a good time. Nice touch! Breakfast area is cozy, patio in the garden makes it a great place to have a relaxed meal. Breakfast selection is more than sufficient. Food is well presented, kept tidy and replaced until the last moment of serving breakfast (which is nice, as you do not have to extremely rush to breakfast place fearing you will be eating leftovers ;-))
Hotel is located with a short walk to the center of Leuven and all the attractions are just around the corner. We will definitely come back!

I was pleasantly surprised! The staff is very friendly. While checking in, we were provided a 'free upgrade', I don't know whether this was a sales trick or not, but the room was very nice nevertheless. We also received a voucher for courtesy drinks at the hotel bar where we could choose whatever we wanted. They even have a small gamification to 'save the environment', more points give you free drinks at their hotel bar.

If you want a calm and pleasant stay in Leuven, then this hotel should seriously be considered.

Second stay at Martin's. The restaurant has shut down and now serves as breakfast area. The hotel is located in an old monastery (kloster) and has kept the garden. There is a modern wing and a historical wing and the room interior reflects this fact. I prefer the historical wing with interior details from back in the days.
Wifi worked fine. Breakfast was plentyful.
Leuven city is quite small and you can rent a bicycle and easily get into the countryside along either railroad tracks or any of the many rivers/canals.
I'll stay here again in the future.

Room tip: Generic hotel rooms in the modern wing, interesting rooms in the historical wing.

I've stayed at MK a number of times now and have never been disappointed. The rooms are small, but very clean with great bathrooms/rainfall shower pressure. In addition to the nice rooms, the hotel offers a delicious breakfast with a variety of tasty hot and cold options for 20 Euro. While the price is a bit steep, the selection is great and the convenience is worth considering. Finally, the hotel offers bikes, which is worth the small fee to explore the small, but active city of Leuven.

Room tip: bike through city to explore
