This library has inscribed all the American high schools and Universities that sent money to rebuild this mighty fortress of learning. It houses a lovely reading room and many changing art shows. I was lucky to see one dealing with Belgium's deaf artists that was simply fantastic. Best of all it is free! Just present oneself to the kiosk on the street level, and ask for a free pass. The visit to the bell tower needs to be scheduled and only for a minimum of 10, however on one's own, one can view the gorgeous carved wooden attire of the reading room and admire the stone modern art work in the lobby. A mixture of Gothic and byzantine and even Romanesque elements abound....It is truly a missed treasure in Leuven.
