Excellent discovery in Leuven. Really surprising new cuisine with exceptional quality: risotto with calamar /squids and excellent pigeon breastfeeding. Nice wines below 35 €, ie, primitivo, priorat, vouvraY.

Fine cuisine, friendly service, and a great ambiance. The lunch menu is both affordable and truly excellent. Well worth the detour from the more crowded spots popular with students and tourists. Highly recommended!

Had dinner for two here. The reception was warm and welcoming, the service was professional (with a visit by the chef at our table). We took the 3-course menu with Tuna and Seafood Linguine as starters, accompanied with a Galician white wine that was perfect. My seafood Linguine was perfect, with shellfish like I've seen many times on the beach but actually never tasted. A perfect dish!
For our main courses we chose more fish, both dishes were very originally dressed, with fresh and very tasty vegetables. The chef knows what he's doing and delivered a perfect dish.
So why do I not rate this as excellent? We were a little disappointed with the desert choice, which was not very original, especially compared to the main courses. It was just OK.
Also, close to the back door we did at one point smell a wave a cigarette smoke drifting in, which in today's world of no-smoking restaurants shouldn't happen.
But these points are no reasons not to recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back!

We had a very good lunch there today. The portions are medium size, but ideal portions for a lunch. We had lunch for 2. Starter was a salmon tartare with some fresh asparagus sprouts, a lemon flavored pesto and blueberries. Very original and tasty combination. The main dish was a pork roast with a nice gravy and mashed potatoes with chopped black olives. We finished with espresso, no desert. The price was really a surprise, only 57 Eur for the 2 of us.
I decided to take my wife there soon to try out dinner.

Our son is studying in Leuven and wants to remain in Leuven during the exam period. So the most efficient and least time-consuming way for keeping in touch on a regular basis is to have dinner say once weekly in Leuven. We have been testing several restaurants and have been disappointed nearly every time. So we are happy to have discovered "Le Chameau". Yes, there is no terrace, your clothes are a bit smelly when you leave and the choice of dishes is relatively limited. But this is compensated by tasty mediterrean-inspired dishes which are relatively original and well prepared, the service is timely and efficient, the surroundings are rather nice, you can order wine by the glass and they have jazzradio.com coming out of the boxes. All in all a very decent restaurant. Halelujah!-;) Les résultats des examens?: Le Chameau does not care!
