The restaurant is situated a bit out of the city center, which is good when staying in this area. But I would not recommend going there. The food was average, not bad at all but nothing exceptional, and way too expensive for what they served. The portions were really small.
We were with a small group of friends, and we were asked not to take more than 3 different dishes on the menu. There was hardly anything to chose from and still then you can only take a max. of 3 different dishes.
Furthermore the dessert was not nice at all. We ate the mousse and it tasted as if it was made from a packed.
The service was good, friendly and fine.

We had dinner with our team yesterday at the Grade. I was very curious, as it was 10 years since my last visit and de Grade has a good name around Gent.
The bar is very comfortable and an enjoyable spot to have a drink. The regular restaurant area looks very appealing too. Our company of 11 however, was kind of squeezed in a separate room (which was too small to be called a room), very sparse lights, but the positive thing is that we were on 1 table.
As we were a group we had picked one of the group menus at 31€: the starter (home smoked salmon and a salad) was nothing special (too big humps of salmon, no particular to the salad), the main (chicken roulade with spinach and pine nuts) was as it should be. The dessert (home made sabayon) was really great.
Conclusion: we had an OK dinner but that is average for de Grade. Our seating did not help to the experience either.

Visited a few months ago. Nice place: you can have an aperitif in the bar. Service is good and food nice!

Went to eat at Grade about a year ago. We both took lobster - my partner got quite a lot of lobstermeat, I only got two spoonfulls (for a main course). On top of that, my partner found a piece of plastic in the food - we told the waitress this and showed the piece of plastic, but she immediately insinuated we put this in the food ourselves. Will not go there again.

Almost opposite of S.M.A.K., museum of contemporary art, it seems like a nice place to eat after a great exhibition.
We were too early for the kitchen, but there is a large bar in one section. As soon as our aperitif was empty we were taken to the dining area. The warm colours are very relaxing. Staff is friendly and food is good.
We'll be back when visiting another exhibition across the road.
