Had great meal here last night! Daughter had spare ribs. I had the Ghent beef stew. Husband had scampi in tarragon cream sauce. With a couple of beers and a couple of Cokes the bill came to around 60 euros. Complete bargain. Portions were huge. Service speedy. Chips were to die for! Lovely bread rolls. Great location next to Cathedral. Would definitely go back!

If you want a nice place to eat, simple but real belgian food than this is the place. Service was very good, the waiter was very friendly, helpful and professionnal.
Furthermore, the restaurant is located on Baafsplein, which means in the middle of the historic centre!

Due to the high reviews, we put this restaurant on our To-Visit list and discovered that it was a ridiculously short walk to our hotel (ibis Hotel next to St. Baaf). We walked in and tried to order mussels in February, not realizing that mussels aren't in season then. The waiter remorsefully told us they had none, but that if we really wanted mussels, the restaurant next door had some available. I was surprised (pleasantly so) that he would be kind enough to risk losing our business in order to help us despite our mussel ignorance! Nevertheless, we stayed, and ordered the steak tartare and the rabbit. They were both absolutely delicious, but what really impressed me was the bread they served before the meal! I can scarcely recall when I've had crusty bread with such an amazing crust. It was reminiscent of that scene in Ratatouille, where Colette tells Linguini (Remy) that you can tell how fresh bread is "by the soooooound!" Such a great little restaurant.

And of course, like most other places in Belgium, the beer selection was expansively lovely, and because it was so close to our hotel, it was convenient to stumble back to the hotel afterwards.

This is in a great location [in the historic centre, side by side with the Bridge] and the food was good. It was crowded out of season [an excellent sign] and the Belgian food was good. However the staff who were doing their best could not cope so we decided not to stay on and have more courses or drinks so cannot rate this higher.
