This restaurant is one of the famous ones in Ghent. All barbecue ribs, you can eat for 16,50 euros, is quite nice, specially for people that like to eat lots!!!. Anyway, the restaurant is very nice, the atmosphere excellent one and the decorations are unique. The attention was nice also, the ribs were good, but the dessert was AWESOME, we asked for a sabayone (I think it was for 6 euros, and you need to order two), very very nice indeed!!!. try it if you dare!

“The curry butter alone was worth the trip!”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

This is a neat little Belgian restaurant tucked in a quiet cobblestone alley near the castle. The main draw for this place is the all-you-can-eat spareribs which are covered in a tasty sweet sauce. Perhaps even better is the baked potato with curry butter, which is also all-you-can-eat. You don't have to order more; the server simply comes around periodically with a giant tray of ribs or potatoes and offers them to anyone who still has room for more. The courtyard where we ate was beautiful and funky, complete with vines overhead and a pond where tall irises grew. There were lots of locals, and the server even greeted us initially in Flemish, so we knew we were in a good place. All of this being said, do not go here unless you have several hours to spare. Our order was taken promptly and the food delivered immediately, but we asked over and over again for the check and ended up sitting there for probably two hours waiting for it. Finally, I got up and had to track down someone and ask for the ticket. This place would definitely have gotten 5 stars from me if not for the bad ending.

“Very good place for typical Ghent food”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Nice place with typical decoration and a very friendly ambiance.
The restaurant offers "all-you-can-eat" spare ribs and a short number of other traditional Ghent alternatives. Food is tasty and served in very large portions. Prices are very reasonable. Overall a very good experience.

“Well worth the experience!”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

My wife and I had a 3 day trip to Gent and on 2 of the nights we had dinner at Amadeus, Patershol.
Ribs are the order of the day and although my wife has always said she doesn't like ribs, she thoroughly enjoyed hers and has now been converted. We declined offers of 'seconds' for both the ribs and jacket potatoes. Booking is essential on Fridays and Saturdays.
