This is the kind of restaurant you love when you've been to many, many high class restaurants. This is the place you will love for its simple interior, but excuise kitchen. We go often there, and never been less than 95% satisfied. We don't know ONE single restaurant to offer what they offer. It's not cheap, but I wouldn't call it expensive either. There's a couple of restaurants that charge you 10x more for chemical kitchen, extravagant food....I don't need all that crap. 'Le Grand Bleu', my kinda restaurant. Friendly, not over done, just right how you want it, and order it....

Excellent place for fish & lobster in Ghent. Have been many times, never disappointed, and always paid a fair price.

We stopped by on a Sunday lunchtime and took the full "Maandmenu" for 35e (cheaper menus also available, single dishes ca 15-20e each). It included: a pre-starter of shrimps and olives, carpaccio of a rabbit (Belgian co-diners suggested it came from England ;)) served with cucumber ice-cream (a bit strange - sweet stuff for carpaccio..) then a baked bit of a salmon, then an intermezzo of lemon sorbet (very appropriate to switch between the tastes) then finally - a lobster (kreeft) with potato puree and Flemish-style asparagus (chopped with egg and spring onion). Finally - a mixed desert that included raspberry ice cream and chocolate musse. Most of the guests were older locals, the pace of serving french-style - slow, so be patient - the lunch took 3 hours in total - but overall - very nice and relaxing experience. Helpful, multilingual service. When you leave the place, at the door you can say hello to the lobsters that are still swimming freshly alive in the basin.

This restaurant offers you a market menu at 28Euros , with a fresh lobster, an entremets, an excelent fish main course and a dessert.
The interior is not fantastic, but service is swift and gentle.
I would quote the with an A.
Worth searching for it.
