We spent a nice weekend here. The hotel is on the river in the medieval centre of Ghent so perfect for sightseeing. Our room was comfortable and spotless with a nice clean smell. We particularly liked the comfortable bed with its six pillows and everything worked well. Breakfast was generous with an excellent choice of fresh fruit, breads, bacon, sausage, eggs etc. Our only gripe was that service in the bar was too slow but we found service slow almost everywhere we ate in Ghent.

Thank you TA. We loved Ghent and this is a great place to stay. We drove in the modern part using their underground parking and checked in. Then we walked out the quay side entrance and wow the view! You are in the heart of medieval Ghent with the water tours to your left and the famous bridge with the 3 spires to your right. If I could I would score location 6*. Ghent must be seen as well as Brugge.

This Marriott is well run. Large room and comfortable bed. Good Wifi, etc. Only one slight issue the water could have been hotter but I think they had a large conference getting up at the same time as us.

You can walk to all you want to see from here. The Adoration of the Lamb is about 5 minutes walk and the wonderful restaurant Pakhuis is less.

Would go back without hesitation and probably will.

Stayed two nights. Location is first class. Right on the water. The staff were all extremely helpful and very nice. Car park under the hotel was full but soon got a space. Not cheap but very convenient. I had pre-booked my breakfast but friends had not. €24 was a lot for what was on offer, although we were a bit short on time to really go to town.

Room was fine. Very clean. Nice bathroom. Good TV choices.

Would be happy to return.

We stayed here for one night just to explore Ghent. What an awesome location! It is right in the city center; perfect for sight seeing as everything is in walking distance. The rooms were clean, the beds were good and the staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. There is a parking garage under the hotel which is also convenient. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Marriott is always my first choice wherever I go so there was no hesitation about where to stay in Gent. It was a very short stay - one night only, nevertheless it was quite enough to get a full idea about Marriott, Gent.
The location is absolutely perfect: on the chanel just in the heart of the downtown surrounded by small shops and restaurants. If your visit to Gent is short enough it is definitely the best choice as almost all the places of interest are of walking distance.
The hotel itself looks very fancy and the rooms are very comfortable. It was really nice to find out that they have considered all my preferences: extra pillows, higher floor, better view. We didn't pay for the breakfast but it looked very attractive and various as we mentioned passing by in the morning.
The staff was very helpful and eager to make our short stay in Gent as good as possible. A girl at the reception has reccomended us a nice Belgian restaurant we really enjoyed.
The only issue I didn't like was that the Marriott parking was full in the evening and I had to look for the parking somewhere else. I do understand that it is a city center but they can keep some parking space for their clients. By the way: the city parking was not very far and it was very cheap: Euro 8 for almost 16 hours.
The price of our room was around Euro 120 but it was a full prepayment tariff.
What I am sure about is that we will definitely stay at Marriott again when we come back to this lovely small town again!

Room Tip: Book and pay in advance: the price is very attractive!

After completing a week Bike and Barge trip from Holland to Belgium, we spent two days in Ghent. The Marriott was a perfect location... right on the canal. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Ooooo... loved that the tub that was long enough to really stretch out fully in. Our room (#430) faced inwards to the hotel atrium. The bad was that there was no outside view.. The good was that it was very quiet and therefore easy to sleep. Our room didn't include breakfast but the local patisserie shops make it very easy to pass up the hotel fare.

After reading the trip advisor reviews, i booked this hotel thinking it would be good. We were given a room whose only window looked onto the main passage of the hotel, so if our curtains were open at any time everybody walking by could look into our room. It was terrible. This room should be used as a store room, not a room for paying guests.
