The location in the centre of the old city is pretty much perfect with everything you want to see (or eat or drink) within a very few minutes walk. And you really will want to eat and drink A LOT, fantastic fod and 1,200 different types of beer to get through.
Room was fine, good size but fairly no frills, peaceful, comfortable bed and friendly, efficient staff stayed for three nights and no complaints about anything.
Overall a good choice when visiting Ghent.

Very modern hotel that follows the curve of the street. It has lots of character with an atrium that stretches to all floors. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent room in terms of size, style, decor and facilities. The beautiful buildings of Gent surround the hotel and there are many super restaurants within five minutes walk. Finding the hotel by car is difficult due to one way streets and pedestrian precincts. Once you are there, leave the car and explore the area on foot. The hotel restaurant was full so we went to a restaurant nearby.

Marriott did a wonderful job with blending modern architecture in a picturesque medieval environment. The interior decorators did really a good job - all pleasant for the eye.

My wife and I booked room 235, with a view onto the river side. (wow). The room was tastefully decorated. The mini bar was little stocked - but then you are not tempted to eat much rubbish. A minor issue is that the bathroom was fairly small. Two people cannot brush their teeth at the same time - it feels somewhat cramped. The hotel own car parking worked fine. Marriott's personnel were courteous and helpful at the check-in and check-out desk. The Poppi bar facilitated a late after 12:00 o' Clock breakfast at the check-out. Jean Pierre served tasteful croissants with a smile.

The shopping and restaurant experience surrounding the hotel is clearly set in a stunning picturesque environment. For hobby photographers a warning: it is not so challenging to take an award winning shot.

From the doorsteps of the hotel you walk in short distances to all the museums, churches, restaurants and small shops with high-end value products. Your are tempted to use your credit card over and over...

A final comment to the breakfast: you can have a 'Grab & Go' breakfast for a few Euro's instead of the usual buffet food that offers nearly everything to increase weight and cholesterol. However, if you want to punish yourselves you can make use of their stunning gym.

Allow me to say that it was our wedding anniversary - hence I could be biased - but my wife concurs: we would return anytime again and again...

I stayed here one day. The position is perfect, really in the center. Rooms are nice and comfortable, good breakfast. The personnel was nice as well and helpfull. We had anyway a huge issue with this hotel, with 60 rooms booked and then cancelled by mistake few weeks before. They did the best to solve this, but did not give us one night, that the group had to spend in a other hotel.

I stayed in the Ghent Marriott for three nights in March. The central location of the hotel was what sold it for us and it was the ideal place to explore the sites of Ghent from as nothing was too far a walk away. It was also nice to be close to the canal. Inside the hotel has a big atrium area with rooms on floors overlooking it, with glass lifts to take you to your floor. There's a bar and table area in the atrium which has a happy hour on Fridays from 5-7 where the drinks are very reasonable (I think they were half price).

Our room was a decent size and furnished to a contemporary style. The bed was comfortable with a soft mattress and plenty of pillows. There were also tea and coffee-making facilities in our room and I was pleased that this included some herbal teas too. Our stay was quiet. Even though our room was opposite a lift, this did not disturb us at all. I found the hotel staff to be helpful they promptly checked us in and arranged us a taxi back to the station for our journey home. Our room was also cleaned to a good standard.

We had a one night stay for a flying visit to Ghent and we had a fairly standard room that had two double beds (two adults and two children), with a rate that included breakfast. In the end to make the booking for a single room for 2+2 we had to call the hotel directly as the website couldn't offer a single room for all of us. this was hardly a bother though and the chap we spoke to was helpful and efficient.

The room was large enough for what we needed, and was very clean and well appointed, and felt modern.

A bonus was the happy hour (half priced drinks with free tasty bar snacks) in the afternoons in the lobby bar; which was comfortable and bright with lots of natural light streaming through the large open atrium. More hotels should follow suit with the happy hour, as often hotel bars are empty due to being too expensive and hence there is also no atmosphere. At this hotel, the bar was full; which was great. the free bar snacks were tasty hot items prepared from the kitchen, and included spring roll / samosa type pickings.

Breakfast was also very good, albeit a bit pricey, but no more so than most hotels. The buffet had a good offering of tasty hot and cold dishes as well as cereals, yoghurts, etc but also a waffle machine (not that we used this).

Overall, for us, a nice pleasant stay.

Quite simply, can not fault this hotel at all.

I could mention the pleasant aroma when you walk in. I could mention that the hotel is SPOTLESS. I could mention its beautiful design and modern rooms. I could mention their comfortable beds but the thing that stands out above all are the staff.

They can't do enough for you and are so polite and friendly. Exceptional mention must go to the staff at breakfast - very attentive and so friendly. You could not ask for better people.

Room Tip: You've got nothing to worry about - all rooms are good!
