Private Tour: Ghent and Bruges Day Trip from...

Saint Nicholas suffers from its location. As cathedrals go, it is less ornate and much more simple than many you would see on a tour of Europe, or even Belgium. What makes matters a bit more difficult, is that it is in the heart of Ghent, which is so beautiful that it makes Saint Nicholas look rather staid by contrast.

Definitely take a few moments to stop in and look around. It is a beautiful place that is diluted by all the beauty that surrounds it.

Nice church with a well used and loved feel. Easy to wander round and have a look so why not. The church is in the heart of the city and part of the three towers run.

the first church of Saint Nicholas was built around the middle of the 11th century. The towers were design entirely in gothic style.
During the French revolution the chorch was used as horse stable.

Magnificent exterior in High Gothic style, the inside of the church is not that exceptional but you might as well have a quick look inside while passing by.
