The bridge is good for taking photos of the main canal area and restaurants, otherwise it is just another bridge in a city of many.

Known also as Sint-Michielsbug in Flemish this bridge is located close to St Michael's church and offers fantastic views over the Leie (LYE-yuh) canal, which served as the main artery running through the downtown. An impressive view of the Graslei and Korenlei restaurants and cafes as well as a row of impressive Ghent buildings. Close to St Michael's church there is a parking lot where you can leave your car and enjoy the bridge and the views -even a walk on either side of the canal. The cost is minimal (1 euro per hour) and is worth it!

The best aspect of this old old bridge is that it is one of the best places from which to take photos of the surrounding buildings and canals. So get your camera ready and snap away!

It is the nicest place to get a picture of the graslei and the three towers (St. Nicholas church, Belfort tower and St. Bavons cathedral). If you can go during night it is also awesome view of the canals and the towers

Passing this bridge you have the feeling you are walkimg straight into the Middle Ages. It made me think of Kingsbridge in Ken Follet's novels.
