“nice little place with great hosts”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

We've stayed only for one night, but we felt very welcome by Kurt & Jurgen. Kurt collected us from the train station, a little extra service which was very nice. Jurgen is making you breakfast in the morning, LOVED the huge chocolate croissant! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. This little nice place gives you a positive and peaceful vibe because of the wonderful hosts. We would stay definitely here again.

I have stayed at Cuberdon three times in the last three years and cannot fault it. Situated in a quiet part of the city, just a 15 minute walk from the centre, it has clean, stylishly appointed rooms, delicious breakfasts and hosts who couldn't be more friendly and helpful. A must when in Gent.

Two nights and you feel like you've known them for ages. Kurt and Jurgen have a lovely B&B and work very hard at making their guests feel welcome. Thanks to Kurts architectural qualifications, the home is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Yes, it's a bit of a stretch to walk into the city, but we had a car and it was only a 5 minute drive.

The quiet suburban street doesn't look much when you drive in, and the B&B looks a little dull from the outside, but step in the door and climb the stairs, and the quality becomes obvious.

We enjoyed our breakfasts - the offer to cook eggs was made both mornings, but we didn't need to take them up on it as the pastries, cereals, bread, rolls etc was more than enough to set us up for the day.

What made the trip - for my brother at least - was Kurts invitation on the first night to join him on a bike ride into the city the Mid Summer Night Run. A shame I was already in the shower - would have been fun!

Thanks for a great stay guys - I'll definitely be recommending you to others.

Room Tip: They're all good!

We had a wonderful stay, very clean rooms and facilities and a welcoming environment. Both host were more than willing to assist with travel information, restaurants, boat rides on the canal and other travel vacation plans. The breakfast was also great. Quiet area away from any busy streets. We would highly recommend the Cuberdon B&B!

We had a wonderful stay at Kurt & Jurgen's Cuberdon B&B. The rooms were extremely well-appointed (and clean), the amenities were great, and the hosts could not have been lovelier or more gracious. Cuberdon was cozy, comfortable, chic, and clean. We would not stay any other place in Gent! Breakfast was good; if you were to stay here, and it is a fifteen minute walk to the train station, you will not be disappointed in your choice. I am an American, and this B&B exceeded my standards; my boyfriend is Swedish, and this B&B exceeded his standards, too. <3 We hope to stay with you again sometime, Kurt & Jurgen!

Kurt and Jurgen's Cuberdon B & B has all the important points well looked after - we had a wonderful 8 day stay with them in May 2013.

Interested and gracious hosts - Kurt &/or Jurgen always had time to chat at breakfast about our day's plans and suggested improvements to our ideas that worked well.

Great breakfast - We enjoyed wonderful Belgian chocolate croissants or sweet pastry and a fruit basket daily, along with a bun for meat and cheese or jam and honey, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee/tea and for us, hot chocolate. Jurgen will make happily make eggs and bacon at your request. On the weekend days, we even had quiche and a bread-pudding loaf option in addition.

Spotlessly clean comfortable rooms - Our family of 3 had both upstairs rooms so we could visit easily between rooms without bothering another guest. Free Wi-Fi worked well on the upper floor and let us keep in touch with home and plan our driving route for the next day.

Best location - Easy access to the big highways (only 5 minutes) so excellent central home base for 8 days of touring in Belgium. Street parking was never a problem, even at 10pm return times.

Kurt and Jurgen both really care about their guests and enjoy being B & B hosts. They even gave me a package of Belgian chocolates for Mother's Day (much to my forgetful daughter's delight) and surely that's the way to any female's heart. Thank you so much.

We quite enjoyed our stay at Cuberdon B & B and I know you will too!

Room Tip: Stairs are straight up runs - not spiral. Do not let stairs deter you from the upper floor rooms...

We booked for two days and stayed for 3 . Kurt and Jorgen were great and gracious hosts as many noted. Room was good and very clean and bathroom large with great shower. Only about 15 min walk to town which we enjoyed. Kurt 's recommendations were very helpful and the local restaurant he recommended in the neighbourhood was an excellent choice. We would recommend this spot with no hesitation.
