Description: The Belfort Restaurant will become a modern brasserie led by Tom Klussendorf who used to be the chef at Cafe Parti during the last couple of years. He aims for tasty and healthy dishes with a focus on organic and local products. The centerpiece is undoubtedly the rotisserie with farm chicken, roasts and, in season, pheasant! Of course there is also a wide range of vegetarian dishes and there will also be a selection of dishes for those with gluten allergies or for those who want to eat food with low carbohydrates. Besides that, something to really look out for, will be the exquisite wine list at the restaurant! Both the Cafe and the Restaurant have a spacious terrace overlooking the new park that was built along the Stadshal. A lovely oasis in the center of Ghent where you can enjoy delicious products, a wide selection of beers and the environment. The Belfort Stadscafe and Restaurant are situated beneath the Stadshal on the Emile Braun square in Ghent.

A party of five eat here twice for breakfast. Lovely staff and lots of lovely fresh produce for breakfast. Would recommend. One of our party is coeliac. Gluten free bread on offer and lovely soft boiled eggs. Thank you. Would recommend.

Here the staff are all so friendly and helpful
There was a group of six of us and after ordering our food we didn’t have long to wait. You can see into the kitchen and the restaurant has a real buzz to it.
One of our party had t realised there was anchovies in the dish and took a mouthful and had to take it out as she was allergic to fish. We spoke to the waitress and in turn she spoke to the chef. Both were so apologetic and offered to change the dish and even gave her a chocolate mousse to cleanse her palette of the taste. They could not have done more for us and we were so grateful. The waitress asked if she was ok and checked in on our table
The food was delicious and the steak tartare was lovely. The prices are reasonable too

We had a delightful lunch in the Belfort on a cold wet day in June. The restaurant is central located and has easy access for everyone to get to. The lunches were tasty and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant and the restaurant was a fine place to dine. The food was tasty and freshly made. We both had excellent salads and I would recommend them. The staff were helpful and friendly and kindly provided an English language version of the menu. This is a small but kind and helpful thing to do in my opinion. Well done everyone associated with the Belfort! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who reads this review.

Have to give this restaurant top marks for helpfulness. I have recently had a gastric sleeve which limits the amount of food I can consume.
The staff were extremely helpful and considerate to my dietary needs and I was allowed to order from the children’s menu so the portion size would be smaller.
The food was delicious. I managed to it most of the stew of pork cheeks and my husband had a mansize portion of steak tartare.
We shall definitely be returning back again

After an afternoon of sightseeing, it was nice to go here and enjoy a cold Belgian beer and some good food. Spaghetti bolognese was lovely and the XXL ribs were not an understatement, they were huge! Only criticism was that with the doors open, it was chilly inside. It was a sunny day and people were taking advantage of a sunshine beer but the temperature was not conducive! Staff were great, very attentive.
