“High standard hostel!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

The hostel is located in the very centre of the city and the view from our room was amazing. From the view, it seemed we were sleeping in a 4 stars hotel!
The service is kind and friendly, the rooms are well furnished, spacious (something not very common in a hostel) and clean.
Wi-fi is good throughout the building.
The Fair-trade breakfast is included and you can enjoy it in the lounge whit the view of the canal.
No matter how trustful is your guide, take a map of the city from the hostel counter, it's full of great tips to enjoy every single moment in Ghent.
The lockers are unfortunately too small for an average backpack so you will have to leave it under your bed and lock away only the most important things.

Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend this hostel to those who are on budget @ single traveler. I booked this hotel after few considerations. I am a single traveler, affordable with breakfast being offered, easily accessible from Ghent train station via tram and safety. I met wonderful people who were apparently my temporary roommates throughout the one night stay. They also love the hostel. The bed was so nice and I really had a good rest and deep sleep. The breakfast was simple but fulfilling. By the way, you need to share the bathroom with boys (this one I overlooked) but everyone respects each other. No lift so it is not recommended to person with limited abilities. You need to read and adhere with the rules before you get the access card. I like the lounge because it is cosy and you can see the river through the window while having breakfast.

In the month I was backpacking around Europe and out of all the hostels I stayed in I can say without a doubt that this one was the best. The service, room, location, and just everything was fantastic. Met some really great people too. In fact, originally, I only planned on staying for two nights but found the place to be so charming that I did four nights total.

If you stay here you won't be disappointed. I think one day in the future I'll come back and relive the fond memories of it all :P

Room Tip: The third floor has some pretty spectacular views.

This hostel is really one-of-a-kind. I loved it.
The staff are wonderful, the building & location are simply marvellous, and the facilities, less than a year old, are top-class. The proprietors are keen to encourage visitors with cultural or academic purpose rather than boozy the boozy dregs who crash into their bunks at 4am, and there's a nice open atmosphere that pervades the place. The Fairtrade breakfast is simple but ample. Some of the rooms have million-franc views of the Towers of Ghent, the others at least have really nice stained glass windows from what I saw. Book well ahead for a Friday or Saturday night. Wifi is good & fast throughout the building. I stayed there as an Erasmus exchange student for a few days whilst looking for a place in Ghent to live, and it was the best introduction to the town, and to Belgium, that I could have asked for. Thank you, Seppe & Tine!

For the price of 25 euros per person in a shared room (breakfast, wifi and 2,5 euro (!) city tax included) you'll stay in an old beautiful downtown building with the cleanest beds, lockers, excellent view and everything in close walking distance.
Highly recommended to all who likes hostels or feels like wanting to like them! :)

I stayed here for a night but I wished I stayed for more! I was upgraded to a room with the best view you can get in Ghent (forget the bell tower). Location is right in the heart of town, and the building itself looks pretty good. Very clean, spacious, and quiet at night. Most importantly the staff are very friendly, nice and honest folks. They will make the extra effort to make you feel at home. You won't regret staying here.

I stayed here with a group of cyclists (I'm 48!!!) and what an amazingly pleasant surprise. Facilities for bikes brilliant. Service at the hostel amazing - bar on premises and brilliant staff. Rooms and facilities were great, good night's sleep. Will consider staying here with my family in future. Well done on an amazing budget place to stay.
Beware though that arriving late may mean it's difficult to get food, restaurants seem to stop serving quite early.
