My wife and I visited Ghent for two nights in mid May 2012. When dinner time rolled around the first evening, we noticed Le Duc directly across the street from out hotel and decided to try it. What a wonderful surprise for us! The food was terrific, the presentation of the dishes was done with a great deal of imagination and the service was remarkable. A young man named Dimitri greeted us at the door and tended to our every need making the meal perfect for us.
We were so impressed, we ate there the second evening of our visit. We had seen some menu items that we really wanted to try so we did and the experience was the same. I was especially impressed with the fact that they spoke such great English and the menu included an English version for each dish.
I would love to find such a restaurant in the U.S. but thusfar, I haven't. Le Duc made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us to make certain our meal was outstanding.
This is a must try restaurant if you're in Ghent.
