Of you want a photo spot which everyone can recognise if they've visited or know the city that's it!

The magnific bulidings mirrors in water and offer to travelers a beautiful view. Stone and bricks facades that are lovely and well iluminated during the nights.

Beautiful part of Ghent...great place to stroll, shop, take in some incredible scenery and architecture, and of course stop and have a drink or a meal. Don’t miss this gem.

This beautiful collection of historic buildings surrounding a nice, wide portion of the canal is a must see when in Ghent.

Ghent is a town full of architecture. At every corner you see something beautiful or impressive. These riverside buildings are a great place to spend some time, look at people and just relax.

You must sit and have a drink or coffe in one of the restaurants or cafes in the area and absorbe the beauty of the place. Cross the bridge and take a look at both banks. Fairy tale perfection!

We stayed at the Marriott and loved being able to just step out our door and see the beautiful and historical center of Ghent - right on the river. Be sure to walk here early in the morning and again in the evening - gorgeous views.

Graslei and Korenlei are the streets on either side of the canal, and both streets are packed with al-fresco dining eateries and picturesque bridges that are even more perfect at night. I visited in September and the weather was perfect and the nights were clear, dry, and comfortable. If you can, stay in the Marriott located in the center of the Korenlei side, where you can step outside and enjoy the scene immediately. In general, I found that the tourist part of Ghent is small, and this part of the Leie canal is all you need. Sure you can walk behind Graslei for more nice restaurants and old buildings, a castle, bell tower, church, etc, but the visual centerpoint of Ghent, the most beautiful part of Ghent is framed by Graslei and Korenlei. Bring a camera.

Excellent place to grab a seat at one of the many cafes and get a Belgium beer and enjoy watching all the people and the seeing the historical building in the background.
