NIce place to stay by the lake with children. Nice nature to find in the park. You also have a playground and water slides right into the lake.

“What a place!”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

If there was ever a campsite created for the younger end better than this one - ive not seen it. The sporting and leisure/fun facilities on this site are verging on Olympic standard - without exaggeration! Theres that much to rave about, i wont even start. Just look at the website - its all true! Ironically, im not the 'younger end' - by a long shot, but all these 'kids' around didnt impact on our stay, as the facilities are well away from the pitch's.
Unfortunately, the nearby road and rail-line wasnt. We ended up about as near to these as was possible to get (we didnt realise on accepting the pitch), and the noise from them was noticeable - even through the night. As we were only there the 3 nights, we decided it wasnt worth moving.

The site is well set out, with good size pitch's among hedges. Some have a good stretch for the leccy, so make sure you have enough cable. Also, some are kit out for heavier vehicles (Motorhomes/RV's) with hard ramps in the grass for the weight. There are a number of shower-blocks - all spotless. One 'complaint' - each had only one regular and one disabled shower facility - which seems a bit light, given there was sometimes qeueing before the main holiday rush had started.

We tried the bar/restaurant which was reasonably priced with good food. The on-site shop was equally acceptable in price and goods offered. It also sold bus tickets for various destinations - Ghent, in our case. All the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient, and spoke good English. The buses ran from the site 3 an hour and were for nothing at 2.40e return.

There is great walking/cycling round the site, - which is obviously flat everywhere.

Back to the 'kids'. For the sheer numbers, they were 'invisible' around the pitch/bar areas, and no trouble whatsoever if you usually steer clear of these sorts of sites - which i have to admit includes myself more often than not. At under £20 a night - traffic noise aside - which wasnt 'unbearable', this is worth a look at. It may be that the pitch's at the north end of the site escape most of the traffic noise - but i dont know for sure.
