Owner description: Vooruit is a vibrant live performing arts center located in a 100 years old monument in the heart of Ghent. Since 1982, we have been offering countless cultural events like concerts, podium performances, parties, book presentations, debates... Vooruit is a significant meeting place for a very diverse public. Contributing to this is our popular Cafe with patio, where anyone can come enjoy a (vegetarian) meal or drink, meet for a chat, or catch up on some work.

This is a review of the Vooruit Cafe. Came here to do some writing with my laptop and have a small meal with tea.

I had the cucumber & watercress soup and a cup of hot green tea. The tee came with a speculoos biscuit and the soup cake with two thick slices of multigrain bread. All were delicious!

Love the atmosphere of this place. Retro by just with a modern vibe without too much change of the architecture. Many people just chatting while drinking wines and beer, others like me working on their computers while others are hear for full meals...

I wish there was a place like this in SF but that would mean SF would have to have a personality...which it doesn't....

Lovely place!!!

Wandered around the arts centre, where obviously lots goes on. The cafe downstairs is worth a visit on its own.

Besides its rich cultural content (theater, exhibitions, concerts, parties), this place also offers a huge bar. The choice of beers is great, and as it is the social-origin near-university place, the prices are quite OK.
My housemate used to work here, and I can just simply recommend this place.

Happened upon this place while strolling the neighbourhood. A great cafe with a cool terrace and looks like a great music venue. Yummy and fresh made sandwiches - I had the ricotta/Parmesan/olive while my husband had the guacamole focaccia. Both came with a tasty and crunchy salad on the side. Great range of drinks, loads of seating, indoor pétanque court. Also tip for other parents out there: lots of room for your stroller and the WC downstairs has a baby changing table in the ladies' disabled washroom (hallelujah).

Went for a quick dinner on the lovel terrace before going to an event in the Vooruit. Since it was gorgeous summer weather lots of people had the same idea. It was quite crowded on the terrace, but we managed to find a table. The vibe on the terrace really is lovely. This is a great place to enjoy drinks of go for something simple to eat. The many is rather limited and only contains sandwiches and snacks. You have to place your order at the counter. After ordering you get a small gadget that buzzes when your food is ready. It can get rather busy at the counter when the terrace is crowded, so it is possible you'll have to wait in line.

I really enjoyed my sandwich with salmon and guacamole. All ingredients tasted fresh and were well balanced. Loved the little salad that came with it. The sparkling wine was a festive touch to start off the evening with.
