The Best Western Hotel Chamade is in my opinion a pretty well-maintained hotel in Ghent. I prefer the renovated rooms which are more modern. But all rooms are clean. The breakfast is average. But all in all this is a good hotel to stay a couple of nights in Ghent.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room when making reservation! These rooms are more modern. But all rooms are cle...

The hotel had a comfortable and quiet room. The location was very close to the main Gent Train Station and a tram stop right out the front the. Breakfast was good and always was stocked. The staff was very polite and helpful.
The room could have been cleaner and the same goes for the bathroom. By no means was it dirty, it just could use a little touch up.
Overall I would stay here again and had a great time during my 6-day stay.

Spacious and clean room (also the bathroom). The breakfast was fine. The hotel is about 2 km away from the old city, but the tram stops right before the hotel and it is just a few stops away to the city center. Tickets are sold at the hotel.

Our reservation for the car park somehow didn't come through when we booked over the phone. But the lady at the desk offered to move her car from her spot on the street so we couldpark there. That was ok for us of course, but I wonder what the solution would be for guests arriving after us.

We stayed 2 nights in July and at first we were a bit worried about the location of the hotel (outside the town centre and close to the station), but in fact, the location of the hotel allowed us to go to the city centre by walk and to discover another part of Ghent we did not know (it was our second stay, but last time we stayed in a hotel very close to the town centre). We walked along the canal and it was very good. The staff were very friendly and they recommended some restaurants close to the hotel for our evening meal. The only issue was the car park, we parked the car for 2 nights and everything was fine, except the steep way to go in and out of the car park. A bit tricky, but we did it!!! I would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was good and the view from the breakfast room was amazing!

Stayed here for two nights on recommendation from family who live on Belgian coast. Good location near to train station (we travelled from Ostend by train) Tram stop to Old Town and centre outside hotel and tickets can be bought from reception. Room not over large but clean and tidy, breakfast OK but what do you expect from a budget hotel. The old town was amazing, we took a boat trip and saw lots of hostelries we would not have found if walking. A trip to The Castle of The Counts is a must despite the exhibition of torture impliments and execution guilloteen. We were lucky , the sun shone and a good time was had. Defo would stay again as my son and his wife do frequently.

Hotel Chamade is quite poor compared with other BW hotels we have stayed in. Apart from being handy for the railway station there is not much going for it except the tram to the old town is right outside the door and very frequent taking less than 10 minutes. Tickets were one euro twenty and can be got from the hotel reception which was very small with a bar that must have closed before 10pm. Hotel staff were helpful and breakfast was efficient with a good selection of products. The major drawbacks to us were the stench of smoke in the corridors and the darkness of the narrow stairs - quite dangerous on my opinion. Bedrooms with free wifi were good but on the whole a very average hotel
