The interior designer who designed this hotel needs a medal, its beautiful. The restaurant, the outside spaces, the bar and relaxing areas are amazing. Its the second time we stayed here and to be honest, we chose another hotel first to stay in, as from our previous experience we found the standard room size tiny. Just big enough to sqeeze a double bed in and not much else. Our first choice hotel was fully booked so we came back here again and were upgraded to an apartment, which had a small kitchen and living area. The extra space was certainly appreciated although the kitchen was wasted on us as we didn't do any cooking. There was also no bath. We did request a cot for our baby but one never materalised. Breakfast was good, it had a good selection of pastries and had the obligatory scrambled eggs etc. All in all a beautiful hotel, efficent staff, great champagne bar but just be aware that rooms are on the small side.

Booked based on TA reviews and happy with our decision. Hotel is just off the Main Street, so a peaceful rest after sightseeing. The central courtyard / garden is really lovely (as is the adjacent spa). Hotel restaurant, The Lof, is fantastic - good food and service. We took a luxury room and it was worth it.
Only negative was we asked the hotel to recommend a restaurant for dinner and they advised Il Mezzogiorno which turned out to be very expensive and not great service.
Will definitely stay here again

Enjoyed our stay in this great hotel in the lovely city of Ghent. The city has everything you want for a mix of culture, shopping and culinary nightlife. Lof restaurant was wonderful, one advice though: be early for breakfast in weekends as many guests arrive together after 9:30. Great gem!

We were very happy with the Reylof overall. It is slightly out of the center, which at first was a bit disappointing. But we grew to appreciate that because of how quiet it was; and in the end, the extra walk was less than 5 minutes. Beautiful, unusually large rooms, though sparsely furnished; great bed; wonderful balcony overlooking the courtyard. Tons of daylight and enormous sliding door for fresh air. Short taxi to rail station (about $10.00). Great spa open to all guests, and the central garden made the place feel like a secret retreat. Staff was friendly, but only moderately helpful (great with taxis, but not so great on restaurant recommendations in a town full of good food). This hotel was priced (about $140/night) just slightly above its competition, but worth every dollar. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor.

We chose this hotel after seeing reviews on tripadvisor . All true and more. The building is elegant the staff superb and the accommodation simply glorious we paid a little exra for a balcony overlooking the gardens huge kingsize bed truly modern bathroom spotlessly clean. We were left just looking forward to a return trip. Ghent is amazing all the charm of Bruges but in a manageable size. True we were blessed with blue skies and a comfortable 25C but even so. If you can make this a stop in Belgium.

Room Tip: Choose a garden view with balcony

The Hotel is beautiful and we were delighted with the overall experience. We booked this hotel as a base for visiting Bruges and Ghent. It was perfect, easy access to the train station and just on the edge of the old city.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are quite small. We ended up with an upgrade on a corner, where the bedroom was...

We only stayed for one night and wished that we could have stayed longer. The lady at reception was very helpful when we checked in, giving us some printed information about the hotel and a map of the local area. Our room was an ok size, but the bed was extremely comfortable. Dressing gowns are provided which you need to take with you if you want to use the Wellness centre. The Wellness centre has a pool - it's not for swimming laps in though, it's for relaxing in and there are several water-jets scattered around it. There is a steam and sauna too upstairs which were great.

The only downside to our stay was the service in the cocktail bar. The guy making the cocktails didn't stand a chance as he was on his own and having to serve people in the bar as well as make cocktails for those of us in the bar as well as those in the other main bar! He did get some help in the end, but that was after we sat there for about 15 minutes waiting for someone to come take our order.

All in all though, the hotel is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
