“wonderful experience”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

I have lived in Gent for the past few years and this was the first time my parents came out to visit, and their first time in Belgium. They stayed 4 nights at Myriame´s, both in the top attic room and on the bottom floor. The house and the rooms are absolutely beautiful (and the location was one of the reasons I originally booked - in a quiet neighboorhood which is basically part of the historic center). Myriame was super friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious, and my parent´s overall experience was truly excellent.

My son and I have just returned from 10 days in Amsterdam, Brugge, Ghent and Paris, and our night in Ghent was definitely a highlight. Myriame was a terrific hostess, sitting us right down with a map and her recommendations for art, frites, locals bar, and dinner were spot on. She has a very interesting life and welcomes people to her house in a very genuine way. We slept upstairs with a view of the towers from the bed. We asked for breakfast at 8:00 and it was at the door right at 8! So generous and delicious. Eggs, croissants, yogurt, the best homemade hot chocolate, etc. We were sorry to leave after just one night and will try to come back to Ghent. Thank you Myriame!

Room Tip: The room downstairs is more interesting, although if you're traveling with family/friends, the u...

In the middle of ancient Gent, you'll find Myriame's B&B. It breathes the past but has everything you need. Myriame is a very warm and kind person who knows all there is to know about her town.
A good restaurant, a lovely bar, an interesting museum, a wonderful market, she knows it all and that is such a great bonus to make your stay even lovelier!
Breakfast is made with such love: you can feel and taste it!
The appartment is more than great, it gives you the medieval feel but with todays comfort. And if you're lucky, Myriame will play the piano, what a way to feel at home with your glass of wine.
Parking is possible in front of the house but let Myriame know when making your reservation and she will reserve a private parking for you..
We love Myriame and her B&B!!

We had an unforgettable stay at Myriame's beautifully decorated house. There was lot's of space: we stayed at the room (which is in fact a whole appartement) on the ground floor, a cosy main room and a rural kitchen that offered view on a romantic 'patio'. Myriame is an absolutely warm and intelligent person who made us feel at home immediately and gave us some nice tips for diner and museums. Breakfast was very tasty, with home made bread, yoghurt, fruit, Gentian pastry, every day something else. We liked this 'personal touch'. The house was very clean (not even spinrag. In an old house! in september!!) and the beds were okay. Although te house is situated at just a few minutes of walk to all the highlights of the historical centre, it was very calm and quiet during the night. We really recommand this place, it's unique.

Myriame's place is full of character, perfectly located to explore the old city and less than a 5 minute walk from the castle. The enormous attic room, which we had, shows the wonderful work in the construction of the roof and has great views of the city towers. The delicious breakfasts were delivered to the door, at our nominated time, and included beautiful homemade breads and preserves. Myriame is a wonderful lady, full of information and good advice about her beautiful city and beyond that enables you to get the best out of your visit. This place is perfect for anyone who wants something different to the soulless, sterile rooms that are so prevalent in modern hotels. I would definitely stay here again

We came to Ghent for four nights for work and pleasure and stayed at Myriame's place. I was attending a conference at the university, so it was important for me to be able to have the space to work a little, which was not a problem at all. Myriame is a truly wonderful, warm, charming hostess. She gave us some fantastic tips about what to see in Ghent, some great places to eat and drink, and is a very intelligent, interesting woman to talk to. When we realised we were standing outside the building on arrival we were very excited, as the building itself is quite spectacular. We stayed in both rooms over the period. The downstairs room made our jaws drop when we first entered! It's authentically, rustically decorated with beautiful paintings and furniture and the bed was very comfortable. We really appreciated having a kitchen available to us, even if only to make an extra cup of coffee in the morning. The second room in the attic is absolutely huge, again quite breathtaking. It was a real luxury to have such a big space for a couple. We loved the breakfast -- always some little surprise on the tray, and it was lovely to be able to eat in the privacy of our own space if you're not in the mood to get up and dressed yet. Myriame made us feel totally at home in her beautiful house, allowed us to smoke in the hallway, landing and garden (a real luxury!) and at the end of the trip even left a little box of chocolates on our suitcase. An absolute gem of a place, and perfectly located in the historical centre of gorgeous Ghent. Can't wait to return.

We spent 3 nights in the little appartment at the groundfloor. Very charming location in the centre. Myriame is a very friendly person. The breakfast is nice, always different with a little surprise. And Gent is a beautiful city. Sure we will return next year!
