“Average for the money...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012

This is a very sophisticated place in a very beautiful location and house in a very special and sympathetically restored old warehouse.

BUT - it isn't cheap. This is primarily a fish a seafood restaurant with wonderful sounding dishes. It's an ideal location for business dinners (if you want to impress), but I wouldn't go there with family or for a romantic dinner with my CBH (considerably better half).

The food is average, and considering the prices, actually a little disappointing. It's just not memorable in fact. For eating seafood you are best going instead to Pakhuis just around the corner, it's better food and cheaper but with an equally stylish restored warehouse vibe.

The chairs are awful. If you sit downstairs, then you're either at the front and perched on the front of an armchair or on a bar stool at the back. The armchairs are too big and when you sit back, you can't reach the table. The bar stools are just not comfortable and because they twist and turn when you move, you have the constant feeling of being unstable at the table. Upstairs, it's just armchairs I'm afraid!

There is a terrace at the front, offering 1 of the most spectacular dining views on earth, but this is a busy waterside street, so don't expect outside to be 'cozy'.

On the top floor is a very chic bar. It used to be a cigar bar, and loses something post smoking ban, but they play very hip music and it's a very trendy place to hang out after dinner.

All in all, this is a very nice place, but I wouldn't go there for the food, or if I was paying with my own money. There is better food in the city, trendier places to eat, and much better value on offer.

“excellent Belgian food, but uncomfortable downstairs seating”

Went here with guests from the UK, who raved about the quality of the beef and the Belgian character of the choices on offer. The wine was first-rate, too, I was told :-)

“Great!”

Last month we ate at Belga Queen. We choose the four course menu, which was (except fron the lobster starter) PERFECT. Accompanied wines made this diner a start of a perfect evening. Thanks Belga Queen.

“Beautiful Restaurant -food needs improvement”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

Six of us went their on Saturday for lunch. We pre-booked in advance and were shown to a table without a view and away from the rest of the restaurant. My grandaughter ordered the burger. The mustard dressing was not to her taste and she asked for it to be changed. The waiter said but I will have to cook another burger and I will lose a a burger. At 16 euros i would have thought there was enough profit in the meal to supply another. We compromised and he took the burger away returned with a replacement bun. All meals were served slightly warm because the waiter service was slow. Everything we asked for we had to wait.

I ordered the sirloin steak whch was for two people to share. It was tastless.

The St Emillion was must have come up from the cellar because it was served too cold.

For 4 adults 2 children 316 euros. Not cheap and not good.
