“a nightmare”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2014

Usually I am quite generous with my reviews but here I must react.!! Be careful!! !! Our stay was a
1 night stop, until our next destination. We were given a nice big room indeed, but close to their local restaurant. Between the restaurant and our room, there was a service corridor only used by staff. The restaurant being very successful, there was endless noise until very late in the night. Even after customers left, personnel had to work still and use this service corridor.

There was no other issue than to wait.... our child was asleep (far from the main room entrance door)... and we could not have asked for a different room.

Giving us such a room (knowing that we would not be in a quiet place) makes the staff also responsible. It does not matter whether our room had 35m2, tv, big bath tub ...... No matter how many stars a hotel has, what you expect is at least "to sleep".!! My wife and me could not sleep..... You cannot rent out such a room, thinking "anyway these people wont come back again". --- not super clean either and smelly bathroom..... never again (avoid room 110)

Room Tip: not no. 110

we stayed here 2 years ago and said we would come back so we did for 3 nights , once again it did not disappoint , we had a slightly cheaper room this time 100euro a night r313 but the room was great clean and spacious a separate area for bed and bathroom then a little walk way and u had a sofa mini bar and desk, for the extra 20 euro last time we had a bigger bed and Jacuzzi but cant say we missed it . we will be back again would not stay anywhere else in Namur!

We stayed here for 2 nights in August before going to Luxembourg and Germany.

The room was nice and spacious with good amenities. Plus it was child friendly with not too many things our 18 month to break or hurt himself with. Surprised there was only a bath in the room, would have preferred a shower.

The location of the hotel was fine and though we didn't get to see as much of the town as we'd like the location seemed fine and everything seemed very local.

We did struggle with mosquitoes on night one. The hotel porter/night manager did all he could with spray, extra sheets and an insect repellant plug.

Breakfast was very enjoyable and good value at 11 euro. Self service buffet with nice meats and cheeses available.

Dinner was the highlight for us as we could leave our Son in the room and use a baby monitor to keep an eye. All course were very nice and the service was excellent. The staff had even set a place for our son with a high chair which I thought was a nice touch.

The only low point and reason for hotel not getting 5 stars was our experience in checking out on the saturday morning as the staff had all been lovely prior to leaving.

The lady at reception was rude and unpleasant when we were paying the bill. After 3 enjoyable days and a really nice start to our holiday this final experience with the hotel did leave a sour taste.

Room Tip: Don't open the windows as the mosquitoes will come and if you'd prefer a shower, be sure to...

This was supposed to be a 4* hotel. poor location in a dodgy area which my partner did not feel comfortable with walking around the surrounding areas. The room was specious but had no air con, hence the plague of mosquitos which we spent most of the sleepless night trying to kill!!! Bathroom had a nice big bath but no shower cubicle. If you don't like baths and prefer a shower like me then this is a big no no!.

Room Tip: don't stay here if you want a good nights sleep.

We went to this hotel as part of a trip to Spa formula F1 and stayed 3 nights. This is a 4 star hotel but feel that is generous
. I think maybe 3 star, the rooms were spacious and in my and my sons room were marble tiles in my room a large bathroom with overhead shower. In my sons room he had a sauna, yes a sauna, unfortunately it is all a little tired. The following are the bad points, all of us who had rooms I the eaves were plagued by Mosquitos and were bitten all over. There was no air conditioning and the rooms were extremely hot and stuffy and we could not open the windows because of the Mosquitos and also the noise. We were on the side facing a church with constant traffic and a lot of noise late at night from visitors to the brothel on the ground floor outside the back of the hotel, yes that's right a brothel. It might have been better if they invested in double glazing then we might have been able to get a decent nights rest. The breakfast was very good and is self service but the night and early morning staff spoke no English, very unusual for an international hotel. We were unable to use the restaurant as we did not book and needed to three days in advance but am told the food is good. As part of our quite expensive package a last night meal was included in the price and we were put in a meeting room and not the restaurant , many people had to send back there steaks as they were very rare and unbelievably we had to go an request steak knives which were not supplied. All in all you need to make sure of where you are sleeping and not the eaves area. Expensive and perhaps not good value for money they need to try harder.

Room Tip: You may need to pay for a superior room, at the price of a standard room I think this is a liberty.

Parked outside too early to check in, but treated well.
On return from city nearby, found the room near the lift. This is a rabbit warren & you may need help with your cases, particularly if you haven't discussed room in advance.
The room was very comfortable with all mod cons.
Dined in the steak house. Was it good. It was magnificent. Saturday night in March In Namur means locals only & it was packed. The service was friendly, the atmosphere electric & the steak to die for!
Breakfast was fine too the next day.
Stay & eat here if in Namur!
