Very impressive site that honours the fallen American GI's during the Batlle of th Bulge.
From the statue you have a fine sight over the battlefield.

We must say that the memorial needs to be "freshened up".
The museum next to the memorial will be opend in 2014.

Thank Hans O

You can climb to the top for a great view over the entire region including Bastogne. From the top you can see all of the important battle sites, outlned on plaques on each of the five points of the star-shaped memorial.

Amazing....sums it up. They are building a new museum there, that should be open in 2014. The memorial is a great honor.

My wife and I visited the memorial as part of a tribute tour for my father who served with the 101st Airborne, 327th GIR in WWII, and fought at the battle of the Bulge. This memorial is shaped like a five point star and pays tribute to those from all states who served here.

Where to start? This place is very emotional, as the very place that saw young Americans fall to free Europe from Nazism. The memorial is a huge structure supported by pillars engraved with all the units that fought the Battle of the Bulge, a text retracing the events and the name of the US States. The view from the top of the structure offers a beautiful scenic panorama of the surrounding countryside. A brand new interpretation center is currently being built and should open sometime in 2014. The exhibition linked to the Battle is currently held in the Bastogne city center, place St Pierre. If you're lucky enough, you might bump into one of the many vets that fought the Battle of the Bulge and come back to visit Bastogne and the surrounding areas.
