We stayed for 2 nights in Bastogne and stayed at the Hotel Leo. Keep in mind there are 2 hotels: one on the main street and one on the side street across from the Wagon restaurant. The hotel is clean, the rooms are very large and although the street noise was about the worst we experienced in our 2 weeks in Europe, the insulated windows were fine for keeping the noise out. The breakfast was excellent!. The Wagon restaurant, while being convenient (30 feet away), was also quite good..definitely recommended. Another plus is the parking is free in the lot behind the restaurant.
Downside is that there is no real hotel staff..you have to go to the restaurant and hopefully find someone who speaks english (unless your French is good) to check you in. Be aware you have to prepay as there is no checkout-you just leave. Also, as in many European hotels in small towns, there is no elevator, so be aware of that if you have bags that weigh in at any amount. Other than that a nice place for a couple of nights.More
