I stayed at Ferme Refat a few times both for business and personal reasons. The place is very well renovated with exceptional good attention to detail. Both in the main areas as well as the rooms (which are all different in size and layout). The food is very good and Frank and Nicole are great hosts! The area is very suited for outdoor activities (hiking, cycling, horseback riding). For business meetings there is a large meeting room with all equipment required. I would recommend it to anybody who want to get away from the daily hectic and relax!

Room Tip: All the rooms are different - difficult to pick one..

The hotel is in a renovated old farm. the blend of old ( thick stone walls for example ) and new is done superb. The rooms are beautiful, clean lines and very clean. make sure you make a reservation to prevent disappointment, this is not a mainstream hotel chain.
Breakfast and dinner is very good and served in a spacious area with open kitchen.
Great location for horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking.

Ferme Refat is beautifully located near Stavelot. The restored farm is authentic but offers all the modern comforts. The rooms and common areas are all very clean.
Frank and Nicole are wonderful host who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of choice and the 3 course dinner prepared by Frank was very good.
A great place for a relaxed weekend in the country.

You haven't been to Ferme Refat and you think you know the meaning of peace and quiet? Well, it's time to book your weekend then. Ferme Refat is a beautifully restored farm run by Frank and Nicole. The couple is very helpful but not to pushy. Every corner of the premises breathes authenticity with a modern touch. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms feature a bath or a shower. Frank is a kitchen master. The meals are a real feast. If you're into horses I'm sure Nicole will make your day.
Notice though that quietness comes with a price. Rooms feature no TV or radio. There is wireless internet coverage but it's limited. It's not total isolation but you will be put to rethinking your busy lives.
Ferme Refat lies near the highway but don't let that scare you. Your ears will not notice. It's rather a big advantage. It enhances your daytrip mobility and you don't have the usual lengthy drive after quitting the highway upon arrival.
Also much appreciated was the relaxation area which is accessible at a fixed rate. Just ask Frank or Nicole to turn on the sauna while sitting at the bar sipping from your Bellevaux Blanche. Towels, bath robes and slippers are at your disposal. Notice there's no swimming pool.
We went to Ferme Refat in November. Purpose was a quiet and relaxing weekend. We left the kids at home. I suggest you do the same. It's the only way to fully enjoy this place.

Ferme Refat is a remarkably restored farm near Stavelot. Design and old stone marry in an almost perfect way an create a warm and sober atmosphere. Same "zen-attitude" in the comfortable and calm rooms. (NO TV, which is a statement in itself ...).
Nicole and Frank, the owners, welcome you in a perfect way and make you feel at ease immediately.
Breakfast and dinner (one single menu) are simply outstanding (simple AND excellent, which seems the credo of the house ...).
If you like horses, you're in heaven. Nicole will take confirmed riders for a tour in the Ardennes. You can even bring your own horse, there are boxes at your disposal. You don't ride? Well rambling - and moutainbikeroutes start behind the hotel, small historic cities are at close range and there is a sauna on site ...
