This was an overnight stop from Germany to the UK, so didn't really get the chance to appreciate our surroundings. But we would love to visit Liege again and the Hotel Neuvice is a great place to stay. The old batiments have been converted really well into a modern hotel. Boutique style with unassuming presence, it does not impose leaving you to enjoy the tranquility offered. Tricky to find so check out the map. We parked in the Cité parking lot which is around 100m from the front door. The centre of Liege is vibrant - I would call it edgy-chic Bohemian - and you are a stones through from independent shops and restaurants.

Visiting Belgian friends, this is the hotel they chose for us. Centrally located in the old section of Liege, this boutique hotel is made up of two (?) houses on a courtyard. It fronts a cobblestone alley (what could be more authentic?) and the minor downside is that it is impossible to get to by car. The good news is you can park at a lot next to the Liege Visitors Center (see photo) near the roundabout on the riverfront, which is an easy 3-minute walk away, even with baggage. That's also a good pickup/dropoff point for rendezvous for travel with friends.

Once we arrived in late evening the desk attendant efficiently checked us in and showed us to our room; the room was excellent - clean, inviting ... very modern design. Service is good, assuming you are comfortable with a front desk that is unmanned but has someone on call during the night. It was no issue for my wife and me. Breakfast was very good, consisting of high quality smoked meats, fresh breads, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, juices, eggs, etc. There are good photos on TA that show exactly what was served for us in July '17.

There is easy access to a post office, many restaurants, spectacular buildings and monuments, all quickly and easily accessible by foot. A canal ferry docks nearby and can be ridden up and down the Meuse River for transportation and/or scenic tour.

Very charming Hotel in the oldest part of Liege. Very friendly, very quiet, clean, modern and a marvelous breakfast. This medieval building has been renovated with lovely authentic details. Lots of typical Belgian Blue Stone. And old oak beams. Despite the authenticity it has a modern comfort. Truly recommended!

This is a very hard to find hotel for the first time traveler. Once you find it though, well worth the price and hassle. Parking is also a bit tough, as you need to find a space about 100 yards away on a metered parking lot. Not a big deal but something to me prepared for. Location is great, and that to me is the key value for a tourist in a crowded city. Within walking distance of great restaurants and beer bars. I recommend and would stay again if ever again in Leige.

Having seen several hundreds of hotels for stay and accommodation for "business travel reasons" (international lawyer of a particular Kind" in period over and about 30 years and some of mostable places at least in Europe, like the "Excelsior" in Rome or hotels In Whitehall and on the Embankement in London (4 und 5 stars) or in Istanbul on the "Bosphore", i think that Neuvice is truly and really what is called "a lieu d'expection". Put aside all publicity language, which usually is not helpful (at all). My room was as a good as in the very "notable" places of good taste in London, Paris, Florence or - again - Istanbul.
If you make in fact "very tough" travels, you look - by experience - for material quality, quietness, very good Standard of furniture and other equipement, if the room smells well (very important), if everything is "bien entretenu" , breakfast is decent and good (fine), waiters and other staff polite, but having a good look and if the Overall presents very good taste and senseful arrangement (there you can see indirectly the efforts of the architects and the interior Designers, and what they "went for". What I have seen of that so far at Neuvice, all really excellent, avoiding "overdone" and with an impressing sense to reduce everything to the necessary and "suitable". Quite a Task, but very well accomplished.
Also, wonderful Restaurant Paris - Brest (please let book the Hotel with a good advance or retain already a table some days before you actually arrive - very much in demand, but of impressing quality. I will certainly return to the hotel even for some consecutive nights at the next occasion coming up.
