First experience at Magis proved to be a good one: good location, very nice building, good interior decoration, very comfortable seats. Were welcomed in by a very friendly host, but the table staff needed some warming up (not so much where service was concerned, that was fine, good even, but was a little "cold" at first. Got better as the evening went on though.).
Finger food for starters was very nicely presented and certainly sufficient, though tastes could be a little more outspoken.Maybe the chef is holding back in fear of being too outspoken ?
Starter came in two variations: oysters or scallops (which was good because I am not a big fan of oysters). Main course was very nice, both in presentation and taste.
Cheeses and accompaniments (chutneys and such) were excellent.
Desert was beautiful and very tasty and coffee and tea were accompanied by yet another aray of small sweet bites.
Overall very good and beautifully presented menu, though like I said, some things could use an extra touch of flavor. We did have enough to eat but didn't leave the restaurant with a very heavy stomach, so to us it felt perfect (we don't like not being able to move anymore because the meal was too heavy).
We'd eat there again !
