“Really fresh fish”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

Although I've been living in Brussels for a few years, I had never been to this restaurant. We tried it out with my husband on a week night and we were pleasantly surprised by the cosy atmosphere. Many places, restaurants, cafes etc, were not necessarily busy, on that cold night, but this one was. The service was very good and professional. The menu offers lots of dishes, mainly Belgian. The sea bass we ordered was outstanding, cooked to perfection and very fresh. The typical croquettes aux crevettes grises I had ordered for the starter, though, were not as good, so slight disappointment there: their taste and freshness were there, but the filling was runny, like a soup, once you cut the first piece. But generally speaking you have a very good restaurant in a nice atmosphere with very good cuisine - at a price, of course. Apparently there is a car parking service (voiturier) but we did not know in advance. Driving around for a parking space in the neighborhood can be tiresome, so either go for the restaurant's car parking service or park straight into one of the (expensive) parking lots in the area.

“Try Francois traterie around the corner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012 via mobile

Francois has a seafood shop trattorie with same name around the corner. A narrow door give access to a small restaurant where they serve food from same kitchen in a more casual environment. Excellent seafood withoutuch dressing.

“excellent seafood in downtown Brussels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

This seafood restaurant just a few blocks from the square is a gem. The menu is extensive, our sole was cooked to perfection, the salad very fresh, and service very good. We would come back here when in Brussels!

“Lobster Quadrille”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2012

Francois is one of the best known lobster restaurants in Brussels. As part of a prix fixe menu the lobster offering is difficult to refuse together with the obligatory lobster napkin and a lobster pick. Very tasty lobster cooked in a vegetable soup which is worth finishing up. Reasonable starters and puddings to finish with.

“Good, but over-priced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2012 via mobile

We had planned to eat at a other restaurant, but they were full so we went to Francois which was down the block. They were very nice and accommodating and we had a good meal with excellent seating out front. However, we felt it was over-priced for what we got. This is not a bad option, but you can find much more for your money elsewhere.
