We had a decent dinner at this thai resto in Place Boniface. It's not standing out with absolutely no detail from any other Thai restaurant in the city. If you re hungry and in the area you cannot find absolutely no other avaialable places then you will for sure not starve choosing this one.

“This Thai does its job just fine”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013 via mobile

Indeed, there must be better Thai restaurants in Brussel as many reviewers note here on TA. But sometimes you just don't need a top Thai, you just need a lively restaurant with lots of locals, okay food, and a reasonably priced glass of wine. Then this is the place for you. The food is not very refined (Yes, Thai food can be!). basically they produce three or for curry's, and either use chicken, seefood, pork or duck in it. It is tasty, there's enough of it, and it, well.... Does the job. Spicy it is not, so ask for spicy if you want it that way.
We had two very informal and attentive waiters, who seemed to love their jobs. We felt welcome and where well looked after.
The interior is greyish, rather dull for a Thai, with stainless steel tabletops and way, way too much light. It is noisy too, but hey, I like it lively and noisy, so no problems there.
In fact, if it wasn't for the lack of refinement, and the sparse interior, it would warrant four dots. 3,5 dots would be best suited here.
They don't do much desserts, but surprise surprise, we had a creme brulee that ranks amongst the best we ever had!
So, if your in this neighbourhood anyway, just looking for a nice evening out, this place is definitely a safe bet. Take my word for it. Just don't expect Michelinstarred Thai.
With a price tag after a three course meal, including two half litres of wine, of not even 90 euro, it is worth your money too.

“A once good restaurant, now poor”

Overpriced; standardised tastes; very bad service. A shame, since this used to be a good and reliable Asian restaurant.

“Popular because of its location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

This restaurant could teach a good lesson to whoever is thinking about opening a restaurant: the location of the place is one of the most important issues. Why am I saying that? Because this poor/average Thai restaurant is extremely popular in Brussels and it can't be for the food or the service. To be correct, the food is not bad and the service is neither. The food is ok and the serivce is ok (not pleasant, not rude). There are tons of good Thai restaurants in Brussels which are much much better than this one. Yet, this restaurant is always very busy and everybody in Brussels seems to know this one.
If I want to eat Thai food I honestly go elsewhere and would not recommend it as there are so many more with better food and service from which you can choose here in Brussels.
If you still decide to come here, ask for a table in the back of the dining room (they closed the terrasse in the back). It's more comfortable than the main dining room the setting of which comes close to a low cost airline (extreme lack of space). In the main dining room, if you need to get up from your seat there is no way around hitting your neighbouring table. And it's not a pleasent view either when you are eating and somebody has to squeeze his/her back between two tables...

“Inexplicably popular”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Made the mistake of hitting Le Deuxieme Element at 8:30 on a packed Friday night. Somehow snagged a table outside. That's when the trouble began. The menu is basic, if lengthy, with numbers beside the dishes, like a fast food place. I had some kind of rice and duck thing. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian dish. Mine arrived fairly quickly. Hers didn't. We waited... and waited. Asked the staff. Waited. Eventually we shared mine. Gave up, stood up to leave, went to pay, and suddenly, the food arrived at the table. We sent it back at this point - it was more than 30 mins later than my dish! Staff were apologetic, but not helpful really. My dish, considering it was €15 or, was... passable. I could have gotten better at a noodle bar around the corner. Is the Asian fast food numbering system a desperate ironic take on fast food? Not impressed at all.
