Description: Vert de Gris in the heart of Brussels, just a few steps from Manneken-Pis, is another shining success from the people who brought you Bleu de Toi. This superbly appointed, high-ceilinged room is painted in a green the shade of, oh, verdigris, with exposed-brick details, an ornate ceiling, and brass chandeliers and candelabra. Romantic? Yes. But the large tables encourage group dining, too, so business associates can enjoy this charming space. The French-Medi international menu includes dishes like starter of scampi with vegetables flamed with pastis, pasta of tagliatelle with clams, main course of thin slices of duck breast with ginger and cinnamon brew and rosti potatoes, and dessert of parfait aux pommes calvados with caramel sauce. A lovely terrace beckons when the weather allows.

Stunning on the outside and in, Vert de Gris is a jewel. From the host's warm welcome to the delightful server, gracious hospitality marked our visit. The dining room is beautiful with large picture windows opening onto the street. High ceilings, candelabras and mirrors radiate warmth and elegance. Prices are reasonable and the restaurant presents diners with an array of choices from meats, pastas and fish among others. The Saltimbocca, beautifully presented with roasted potatoes, carrots and a melange of peppers and mushrooms, melted in my mouth. The pasta was fresh and delicious. The tarte tatin was adequate but not exceptional. The apples were rather dense without the benefit of additional flavor.
The warm service and good food make Vert de Gris one of our favorites in Brussels.

We had to wait a bit for our table to be attended to, but once things got in gear, things got in gear. Nice and decent food and warm attentionate service. Explains why this restaurant has been around for decades.

Just 5 min walk from La Grand Place. I have eaten here many times and the food has been fantastic every time. Menu changes often but that is normal for menus in Europe. The ambiance is magical and romantic inside. If you ever get a chance to eat out on their tree canopied terrace out back, you are in for a treat! Best Octopus salad and Ahi Tuna Tartar I've had. My husband said it was one of the best lamb dishes he has ever had. They have a delightfully elegant event/banquet space upstairs if you are considering a milestone birthday dinner or corporate function. Can't wait to go back!

We were wandering around Brussels looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled on this restaurant. We had the most wonderful evening, beautifully cooked food in great surroundings. Our best meal during our 4 day break.

I would definitely go again.

We ate at this restaurant three times while in Brussels because we like the food very muck, The dinning room is pleasantly decorated and the waitress was extremely nice and friendly. We tried four of the entrees on the menu. The portions were generous and the food was prepared quite well each time. We got to know the owner, an ambitious young man who is thinking of possibly relocating to Miami. I highly recommend this restaurant and would eat here again if I travel to Brussels in the future.
