Was delighted to get a last minute reservation here. Was a fan of this restaurant a couple of years ago but with all the choices in Brussels I hadn't been back in a while. The restaurant itself is as warm and welcoming as ever (very classic).
The menu offers a good variety of french cusine with one of the house specialities being meat cooked on the open fire. Two of our group opted for the 4 course menu which at €38 was excellent value and the food did not disappoint. Up until this point I really cannot find any complaints, unfortunately though as the evening went on it became more apparent that the staff wanted everyone to finish up as quickly as possible and leave. Half way during the main course they came over and cleared away the basket of bread and salt and pepper! One of the group was still enjoying her remaining potato along with the delicious Bernaise sauce when that was cleared from in front of her (she literally had her fork mid way between the dish and her mouth!). When we commented on this to the waiter he just shrugged and continued on!
It was very strange behaviour because, there was no second service, it was not very late (23h) and we were not the last to leave.
So while I would recommend the location and the food I would certainly not rush back for the food. Pity!
