It used to be one of our favorites restaurants in Brussels but It had been months maybe a year since last time we visited it. When we walked in, we noticed the staff was different and as we had a look in the kitchen we realized there had been changes as well. The menu was also not the same, but they used to change every season, so we could not really compared. Prices were the same as before, medium-high, and we decided to order. It was 20.30 and already two dishes from de menu were not available. The food was ok, but NOT FOR THE PRICES THEY ARE CHARGING!!!! Besides, four out of eight dishes we ordered had the same wok style vegetables as a side dish!!!
We had a good time anyway cause we were celebrating my 40th birthday even though we ended up paying 80€/person, a lot for wharmt we ate.
We noticed there were a few empty tables the whole evening, wich it would have been impossible in old times, booking had to be made weeks in advance!!
Well, we wont be going back, and I suppose many like us. So Chez Marie will probably continue loosing clients and with those prices I cant Imagine they stay open too long. I am really sorry, big loss for us and for Brussels!

The food is ok but neither special nor spectacular. The wine list is interesting with some nice surprises. The service was good and the staff friendly.
To summarize : there are much better restaurants in Brussels.

We just spent 180 eur on a four course dinner for two including 3 glasses of wine each. The starters are around 10 eur, mains around 25 eur.

The restaurant is small and cozy.

The service was ok. Bit too slow at the beginning. We had to ask for pepper and after having a plate of shrimps that i had to peel i didnt get anything to clean my hands with.

As of the food, the only outstanding dish was the main of pigeon which was soft and smoky and perfectly cooked. My lobster dish lacked any flavor and tasted blant. The pumpkin soup was very good. Prawns were fresh but the aioly mayo could have done with more garlic. Both of the desserts we had were dissapointing. The banana dessert was not good due to the strange chewy massive marrengue floating on it. My fig dessert was nice but the figs could have done with more baking and caramelization.

Overall, average experience and i have no reason to come back.

It is with great regret that I write this review having been a steady customer of this restaurant for years and having always appreciated the friendly service of Daniel, as well as his great wine recommendations. But the new owners are a disaster, service is rude, the food is awful. Sorry - first time I ever give a negative review on trip advisor.. But this was such a disappointment.
