Local places pepper the nearby streets like crazy - try walking down these narrow streets without getting asked to come into a restaurant and having their "best mussels in all of Brussels."
Chez Leon, though, does have decent food and the prices are not bad compared to most places. Try to get a table outside for good people watching.

We were just walking down la "Petite rue des Bouchers" checking out different places when we came across Chez Leon and it wasn't too busy so we decided to try the mussels. Probably would have taken a table outside to people watch but it was raining. We each ordered the platters that came with a shrimp salad, mussels, fries and a beer. I ordered a side of mayo, I love mayo with fries. Everything was good and even the house beer wasn't bad. There was plenty of food and everybody in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves. The waiter was not as attentive as he could have been when it came to bringing the bill but the food came in a timely manner. There are lots of other places for mussels but we were there at the right time and it worked for us. It was a weekend of more mussels, fries with mayo, beer and of course waffles and I prefer the Liege style.

DH and I ate there on our one and only night in Brussels. He ordered the Belgian specialty Waterzooi which is a stew, in this case a chicken stew. A simple meal but delicious. All in all the food was good but not outstanding. The only reason for the high rating is because our server Billy.
NOTE: this restaurant is located on "restaurant row" which is a series of narrow streets with wall to wall eating establishments. We had chosen another restaurant in this area and made reservations but when we arrived no other people were eating there. We walked up and down "restaurant row" and opted for Chez Leon because of the crowd. Other places were trying to entice people to eat there and we noted they were still nearly empty at the end of our meal.
