Description: For generations of gourmets, the Villa Lorraine has always symbolised the meeting place of the food excellence and the perfection of a warm welcome. For over a century now, fine dining and elegancy have been on the menu, here in an area that must be among the greenest in the capital of Europe, at the very heart of the Fort de Soignes. Today, we still don't even know exactly when building began, probably around the end of the nineteenth century, on this elegant construction that takes it name from the nearbydrve de Lorraine. From the outset, this pretty house has attracted an elegant clientele, looking for an experience of the very highest calibre.

One of the best restaurants in Brussels, fantastic wine list, great food, formal and a bit stuffy, but worth the visit. Far from inexpensive, but worth the money if you have it.

Finally the Villa Lorraine has changed for the better!
An institution regains its creativity and quality.
Excellent dinner, compliments to the New Chef, formerly at the Chalet de la Foret.
Combines the classics with the new, and a respect of the natural savor of the produce.
The wine list lacks in references outside of France, there are about 10 Italian wines, and a 7 Spanish... A bit short when you know they have about 28,000 bottles in their 2 cellars.
Keep it up, and you will regain your stars!

Very classy. A valet greets you when your taxi arrives in the yard. By the way, your expanse will be increased by the approx. 45 euros in cab fare, if you are staying downtown Brussels ( I was staying near the Grand Place). But the peacefull champetre garden, and overall dining experience, may be worth this extra.
Very attentive, classy, helpful service. The staff is competent to the point that they are beyond stiffness, despite the black 3 pieces suit with tie. They made me feet very much welcome, despite my more casual attire. I was really pampered.
I expected to order a first course, but I was kindly made aware that the main course that I was considering ( “canneton aux cerises”, young duck with cherries) is prepared only for two. I reflected a moment, and realised that this is a dish I may not find elsewhere. The server confirmed this. I decided to skip the first course, and have that duck dish only. As expected, I did not finish it ( it was meant for two), but they offered to wrap it for me to take back. The meat was very tender, very tasty. The cherry sauce was a superb accompaniment. The dish is highlighted by confitted large cherries ( great taste and great look in the plate). This dish is a success. The wine Sancerre Henri Bourgeois was perfectly suited to this. Very aromatic, rich, very satisfying. They greated my request for flat tap water nicely ( did not feel like spending on bottled water). They brought a large carafe of that tap water.
Velvety ambience. The tables are not too close together. Real silver cutlery. Quality, heavy white cotton tablecloths.
I cannot emphasize enough how gracious this dinner was.
