We have stayed here for no less than 6 weeks (work and holiday in Brussels). Are from Brussels, same neighbourhood (the very centre of the city), and needed a place to stay now that we live abroad. After previous missions and having stayed in top places (ao The Dominican), this B&B really beats it: excellent location, excellent value, beautiful spacious room and bathroom, fantastic breakfast, stable and fast wifi, and most friendly and knowledgeable owner. Will certainly come back!

We read the previous reviews and although we agree with some of the negative comments (the neighbourhood has lots of nightlife and hence it can get noisy with drunk people on the street, the breakfast area is quite small and only has 5 tables), we feel the positive far outweighs the negative. Firstly the room was spacious, modern and clean. Separate toilet, hairdryer and plenty of towels. Secondly, the breakfast was great (fresh bread and croissants, ham and cheese, egg, coffee and tea, fresh oj), we stuffed ourselves and had to skip lunch. We didn't see anybody waiting for a table, so I guess the planning usually does not pose a problem.

It's also convenient that the b&b is next to metro Anneessens (btw, the ticket machine only takes coins) and that there's a parking garage Panorama around the corner (€18 for 24h).

We thought we had reserved at the Downtown BXL property (118 rue du Marche au Charbon, right beside La Casa BXL) but we were directed next door to La Casa BXL. The room we stayed in (medina room) was nice, clean and spacious. Staff was very nice and breakfast was good. Breakfast was served next door. No air conditioning so we had to sleep with our window open - caution that there were lots of mosquitos but perhaps due to the rainy weather. Our only real complaint was that there was daily construction within the building (rooms look like they were going to be renovated) during our stay and unfortunately we were not made aware of the construction/renovations prior to our arrival. If you came home mid-day for a snooze (Brussels has very nice nightlife), the hammering and drilling was very loud. The construction started about 9am (just as we were heading down to breakfast). I am certain the rooms will be just fantastic after renovations.

Room Tip: There are lots of stairs - this is well documented on the website. The higher floor was nice but be...

We are very sorry for the misunderstanding about the booking at Downtown instead of LaCasa, but remember that it was after a change in your dates that we had availability only at LaCasa and when we informed you about this (6th Aug) you specifically showed us no preference for one b&b or the other, which we assumed as an approbation. Concerning the renovation in pogress: unfortunately we had an unexpected problem that needed to be repared as a matter of emergency. This is the reason why we could not let you know prior to you arrival. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Location is close to the historic city center and the suite was beautifully renovated, but the neighborhood has homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks and panhandling in area around the B&B. There is a bar just below the suite accommodation, which is very noisy until the wee hours of the morning. The bathroom for the suite does not have a door (would have been nice if this had been mentioned on the B&B website.) Face washcloths were not provided and when we asked for some, hand towels were provided. While the bed was made every day, the sinks and counter tops were not wiped down the entire 5 nights that we stayed there. The trash was only emptied on the fourth day when we left the can directly in front of the door. Truly cannot recommend this B&B.

Thanks for your review. I would like to point out that we are not "close to the historical center" but right in the historical center at 300 m from the Grand Place and the Manneken Pis... In Brussels as in most city centers there are indeed homeless people –unfortunately this exists in our society - but they are not on our doorstep though... Also I am happy to let you know that we have placed a door at the bathroom...

We just spent the Easter weekend at La Casa and we loved it. The location couldn't be better, right in the city centre. Very charming house, decorated with a lot of style. The hosts are great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good: orange juice, cereals, coffee/tea/chocolate, wonderfull fresh bread, fresh fruit. As we wanted to sleep late, we chose a self service breakfast so that we could have breakfast whenever we wanted. Everything was prepared for us in the very cosy breakfast room. We couldn't eat all that was prepared for us It is a real privilege to stay in such a wonderfull place. I really recommend it. My girlfirend wants to come back in June so we already booked!!!

I had made a reservation on Lacasa on the Jan. I even got successfual reservation email to comfirm my room. Today I sent a email to double comfirm my reservation. They said my reservation fail.
They olny said no room for me & no any explanation. Nothing worse than that they forged the email to make me believe it's my fault.
You can't trust Lacasa. Image that you are rejected when you travel at Brussels.

Great location near the grand place. great continetal breakfast of bread ham cheese brioche nutella coffee juice yoghurt as much as you want, and funky rooms decorated with a bit of style. And friendly service, we were helped a few times on how to get to where we wanted.
Go to the Atomium by tube or tram if you can, its a proper excursion, and after youve done the grand place, which is nice but gets dull after a while, go off piste and go to the flea market. DONt eat at the grand place, we had a hot choc for 3 euros each, and it was powder and water. what a way to disappoint.
