“Good Choice, Good Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Two couples recently stayed at the Carrefours Best Western and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were of adequate size and amenities. The location was great for walking the old part of the city and very near to the Grand Place with interesting shops and restaurants.

If location is what you're after this is as good as you can get in Brussels. Across the road from Central Station mainline and underground, round the corner from Grand Place, you just need to walk out the door of this hotel and you're in the centre of Brussels. As for the hotel itself I was in a prefectly clean and well furnished room. I was travelling on my own and the room was quite small, the bed was a 3/4 size i.e in between the size of a single and double so I'm not sure what's on offer if you're travelling as a couple. The breakfast was adequate - nothing overly impressive but with so many fantastic cafes, restaurants and choclate shops surrounding this hotel I wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast.

The hotel’s location is its best advantage, a downhill walk of just minutes from the Central Train Station and also very near Brussel’s Grand Place. Our room was also spacious, particularly according to European standards. We were on the fifth floor, facing the front of the hotel, but we weren’t bothered by any noise. The reception staff was also quite friendly and helpful. Best Western franchises can be quite variable, but the hotel definitely deserved its “premier” designation.

I'm member of BW loyalty programe so if I can I usually choose theese hotels. There are some Best Western in Brussels and that one is my second favourite. Perfect location close to central station (metro and train also connection with the airport). Ask for room on the higher floors as crowds of people make noise up to late hours.

Location was fantastic. Front desk was very polite and helpful, especially the young man (didnt get his name). Room was decent. Bed was a little soft. Overall, a good stay.

The Hotel is situated extremely well. Not far from the Central Station and in the centre of the Restaurant District, with many hotels and restaurants just across the road. Nice shops are close by, but then it is a dreary place needing refurbishment. There is no Restaurant or Bar, just a small lobby with reception. Overall the room was fine, though tired and my room facing the square at the back was quiet . Breakfast downstairs consisted of dry stale rolls and horrid coffee from a machine. If you are going to spend minimum time in the hotel and just use it as a base then the situation makes it worth while, though there is the 'Meridian' round the corner

Room Tip: Take the rooms onto the square at the side as they are quieter

The strength of this hotel is its location - very close to Central station and major sites. We flew to Brussels and took the train to Central Station then walked to our hotel. We walked to sites and restaurants from the hotel.

Our room was okay but mattress was a bit saggy. We were only in Brussels for a few days so not a big deal.

Breakfast was good.

Service was good - Problem with our safe that was resolved promptly.
