It is not trendy or luxurious but go in and eat there! The restaurant is in what must pass for a 'China Town' in Brussels and there is competition enough in the area but the food at Xu Ji's is authentic and well priced. I have in fact eaten here many times over the last three years or so but a recent visit has prompted me to write this. I am always happy to go back there as the Peking duck is particularly crispy on the outside and the meat is tender inside - excellent, the broth style soups are also a favorite and filled with the right vegetables and herbs. The fried noodles are not oily and the portions are good and the extra vegetable dishes are in delicious sauces (soy or not) and not over salty. In some ways it is not refined cuisine but that is not the point here as you get value for money and quality food.
The staff too are friendly and helpful and the fact that the restaurant is almost aways open means you can dine early (which I usually do when in Brussels). It can also get very busy (so I am probably not alone in what I think about this establishment!).
