“Horrible tourist trap”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

Eat anywhere in Brussels, but not anywhere in this street. No Belgian would eat here. You can't walk down this street without waiters hasseling you go come in and eat,... should say enough ; if they were good places to eat they wouldn't need to push you into their place.

“tourist trap”

no citizen of Brussels will eat here. It looks nice, but everthing is fake and the food is mediocre. There is one exception: Aux armes de Bruxelles. It deserves a better location.

“Walk through, don't stop.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

It's a nice colourful street with lots to look at, but not to consume anything (unless a local you know tells you it's a safe bet). It should be obvious from the reek coming from the seafood rotting under heaters that it's not too safe to eat around here. Putting good raw ingredients on such displays says they're not appreciated. Come on, no matter how much the waiters/bouncers assure you they have only fresh stuff caught the same day, the smell alone puts you off and tells a lot about a place. Do have a stroll, it's an experience and an essential part of the town, but it is basically created for tourists too lazy to look for proper places.

“Very cool alley full of restaurants and color!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

This was a nice little spot to check out at night, walked through and saw a ton of little restaurants, was lively and full of culture, a little too cramped to actually take a table and eat in the alley but was a nice walk-through nevertheless.

“ripped off and sick”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

first i don't like being harassed by waiters offering me 1 beer to get into their restaurant.
then I had dinner there once in of of these restaurants (all the same, offering the same or similar food). we were ripped off on the seafood platter (we had asked to share and they billed us more than what we got). then I was sick during the night. So for me it's a no-go. I only walk through there to the delirium café, but i'd rather skip lunch than stop for a meal there
