Owner description: Dominating the Sablon Square in the center of Brussels, this church was transformed from a chapel into a major gothic church starting in 1436 through the beginning of the 16th century, and truly exemplifies the Brabantine gothic style of architecture.

“Wonderful Church...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2013

This is a wonderful church with the most peacful atmosphere I have ever come across. Its beauty is astounding, with magnifiicent art works and of course you can even stay for the mass! Like the last reviewer wrote, the choir is splendid! And its all so relaxing once inside. The windows are beautiful and elegant with the stained glass and the scerenity is magical. Go and see for yourself!!

“Best church in Brussels for me”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

I loved this gothic church at first glance. Beautiful outside and splendid inside too. The old stained glass windows are simply gorgeous and are worth the visit themselves. On Sunday evenings (6 p.m.) Mass is sung by superb sopranoes, but you can't go around visiting the church . Anyway the whole atmosphere is pure magic for those who admire art and music.

A good place to walk around with the festive lights, go early evening and you can see the cafes... then walk down to the Grand Place...

“The Royal Family attends church here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

If I had known this church was so amazing on the INSIDE, I would have visited it every day during my recent vacation in Brussels. Every detailed nook and cranny is so fascinating, that you walk around in awe.

The church is near the Grand Place. There are stairs to climb to reach the front entrance, but there's a thick bannister to use, or to lean on.
