“Expo '14-'18 very well done”

A view of WWI from the Belgian perspective. An excellent balance of the political background, social consequences and military history. Euro 12 was reasonable value. Rest of museum pretty average.

“Good for guys”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

Husband and sons did this museum while daughter and I shopped the Grand Sablon antique market. They said it was pretty good. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but good use of time if you're there anyway.

“You must see it!”

If you are interested in history you can spend all day in this museum. If you are not into history, believe me that you can spend nice time there (choose from a variety of interesting exhibitions).

“Free and with a new WWII section”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2014

This is a free museum and a great place for anyone interested in Military history. They just opened a new area that is dedicated to WWII. It was very well done. There is a lot crammed into some of the smaller areas, but I believe that they are slowly remodeling and improving. All of the descriptions are in French or Dutch (?) so it is a little hard for English speakers. A great way to spend 1-2 hours. Don't miss the aviation section too!

“World War I exhibit good, rest is disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014

The museum has put together an outstanding exhibit on WWI, which deals with the whole war, Belgium, the home front, and it's aftermath. Well worth seeing. The rest of the museum is an example of what museums used to be, a collection of objects. Less would have been better, especially with more explanatory text. 20 uniforms soon becomes overwhelming. However the one part of the museum is worth a visit
