“Average”

I'm not a fan of military history, so I can reccommend this place for some cloudy and rainy Saturday or Sunday. The place is child friendly, because there are interactive spots!

“A great museum.”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

The museum is very well put together with a great collection of material. It really depends on your knowledge of Belgian history, especially military campaigns. For example, the displays related to Belgium's presence in Mexico only become really meaningful if you have studied his involvement. It's free entry and has a nice cafe that serves simple but tasty food for lunch.

“Surprisingly Amazing”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

This museum it´s just amazing. First of all it´s free, so that´s a great point. Secondly, you can go to the top of the building ("Art du Cinquentenaire") and enjoy a lovely sigh of Brussels (The EU Comission, The Atomiun, The Grand Place...). But what it´s more, the museum it´s just impressive; it´s huge and complete: you´ll see a huge room with real planes and helicopters inside it (all of them at it´s real size), you´ll be able to walk inside a real size trench/ditch, etc. Specially indicated for families with kids. Just give it a try even if "war and battle" aren´t what you´re most interested in: you´ll be delighted.

“Excellent museum”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

If you are interested in military history, this is an excellent museum. In fact, even if you are not, you cannot fail to be impressed with how well this place is put together. It is packed with things to see, from uniforms to weapons throughout the ages. And to top it off, there is a great view of the Cinquantenaire park from the 4th floor. And it's free to get in!
