“Architecture: Tick.”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

The architecture of this place is magnificent it was such a shame that there are no shops of any interest in there and the whole place feels a bit dead. A real shame. Worth seeing for the magnificent architecture though.

“Creepy corners of Brussels”
Reviewed April 29, 2007

When you enter a shopping gallery, even on a Sunday like we did, you expect some 'grandeur'.
Galerie Ravenstein in Brussels opened in 1958. It can be closed in 2007.
We strolled through it on our way from the Central Station to Bozar (the Palace of Fine Arts). Gloomy, deserted, some cafés with one lonely visitor, empty terraces and a lot of room for hire. At the moment we passed, nobody else was walking there - it was a sunny Sunday afternoon, with crowds of people in Europe's Capital city...
Can nothing be done to interest investors and shop-owners to start some attractive business here? The place itself has opportunities. It is on a mayor walking route from the Grote Markt (Grand Place) to the park in front of the Royal Palace.
Add some escalators, some music, more entertainment and we will give it another try.
