“Worth a visit.”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

We visit Brussels two or three times a year and make a point of going to the Ethnic Market.Best time early Sunday morning. As ex antique dealers and now buying for places we are refurbing we usually find a few things worth buying. Last trip bought a very nice enamelled ornamental wood burner, now in our lounge, for the very reasonable price of 200euros.You will not find the Lalique dish for a few euros which it seems many seem to expect but there are plenty of reasonably priced items, pleasant sellers to deal with and nice cafe's restaurants each side for a coffee or a lunch. We''ll be there again in a few weeks.

“Sad place with lots of junky stuff in carton boxes.”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Oh my god ! What a place. Visited on a Friday.
If you like boney M LP's , old clothes , cups and plates .
Basically stuff from passed away gran ma's I think.
Many Arab vendors , the place had not so great atmosphere I thought. Maybe because of a Friday ??
We visited some shops in a street close by and these were 100 x better !!!

“Flea market in Brussels”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

This flea market is big and bustling. There are numerous traders and the atmosphere is lively and energetic. Bartering is expected but you must be sensible to avoid antagonising your seller. A lot of house clearance junk to sift through but if you have the time it is a good experience. A totally different experience to the rarefied atmosphere of the Sablon antique market - give it a try!

“Flea market 146%”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Right place for those who like garbage trade :))
The atmosphere of Jeu de Balle is nice and attractive up to now.
You can find a lot of crazy old stuff there starting with old corks and ragged socks and finishing with Ard Deco items and rare figurines in really good condition.
Do not expect to find original gems, 99.99% of them are out of the market due to professional antique hunters control, however you still can spent your time with fun and find something lovely for you personally.
Last time I found full box of small cats figurines, about 120-130 items of all materials (porcelain, stone, metal, glass, etc.). Asked 150, fixed at 75 euros for all. Yeahh!

“Maybe not the best flea market but still really nice atmosphere”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Maybe it is not the best spot to go if you're only in Brussels for a weekend, or if you expect to find awesome vintage stuff.. If you're really interested in the market itself then you should try to go very early, and maybe not Sunday as it is actually the busiest day.. But if you go there to wander around the alleys, marvel in front of weird objects/clothing or buy an random vinyl, and most importantly finish in one of the numerous typical cafés around the square, THEN you will enjoy the visit there :) That is actually how most Brusselers see it, a nice square for a lazy Sunday morning among old objects and beers...
