This lovely under shelter shopping arcade is a magnet for tourists, but the huge amount of people that visit at one time do not detract from how lovely the shopping arcade is, especially near Christmas, when the ceiling of the arcade is decorated with Christmas lights and all the shops' windows are alive with colour for the festive holiday.

One of the big attractions in the strip are the chocolate and sweet shops, with their brightly lit windows full of fascinating chocolate and lolly products.

The galleries are located close to the Grand'Place and are actually crossed by the rue des Bouchers where most of the restaurants of the Îlot Sacré are located. They are smaller than Milan's galleries but have their own charm, with a cinema and a row of shops that include some of the best chocolate shops - for instance, Leonidas, a great discovery in this trip.In the winter, protection from the weather is an additional advantage.

This is a must see when you visit Brussels...the shops are beautiful and the light in the galery is very beautiful..a lot of chocolate stores but for me Leonidas is the best and the praline"manon with nuts" is the best hmmm...don't eat in the restaurants in this neighbourhood..these are tourist traps..except galeries des comptoirs et aux armes de Bruxelles "

It's definitely worth taking a wander here if you are in Brussels. It is home to the best selection of chocolatiers and some really nice little cafés and restaurants.

The gallery itself is beautiful and definitely worth going for a picture.

Must see historical galerie. And a lot of nice shops : the place to look for handgloves in a small beautiful old shop, top leather handbags, design objects/furniture, jewels - modern and antique, books, chocolates and a historical cinema, bistrots, restaurants... rather small but great atmosphere
