Owner description: Wander through the Les Galeries Saint Hubert, a gorgeous glass roofed arcade in the center of Brussels. Lined with cafes, theaters and luxury stores, the Les Galeries Saint Hubert also has the distinction of being the first covered shopping arcade in Europe.

Very nice building, great to walk through. I found it kind of fun to look at the shop windows and restaurant prices and snicker. How ridiculous that this is such an expensive glorified shopping mall.

Best thing about this place is it's history. Supposedly when it was built, because there was always so much rain in Belgium, this shopping center was created for the elite to be able to shop in comfort without getting wet. It is beautiful with its great glass topping and intricate design throughout. Great shops inside of all sorts including chocolates!! There are openings inside that lead to closed in side streets of romantic restaurants. It's also a step away from Grand Plaz making it two for the price of one, eventhough both are free.

The galleries are beautiful, it's lovely to walk through them and it's hard not to get tempted by the sweets and chocolates shops there. They are very close to Grand Place, the Art Museums and lots of restaurants and if you spend a lot of time in the area you will visit again and again.

A good place to go if you're a shopping lover. You can find here some expensive chocolate shops,a few restaurants and cafes. Not so impressive as Umberto I galleries in Napoli(Naples) or Vittorio Emanuele II in Milano, but worth a visit, definitely.
Right next to the galleries is Rue des Bouchers, a street with a lot of restaurants.
