Gorgeous room, fantastic glamour, very good espresso (by belgian strandards...), friendly service, fair price. Mandatory to return there, on the next trip to Brussels...

“great atmosphere and fabulous interior decoration”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

The food is good, do not expect gastronomic courses (for that there is l'Alban Chambon, also part of the Hotel Metropole) but simple, good food at a reasonnable price in a very friendly atmosphere. The place is just magificient. No hesitating.

“Great interior, pretentious staff, only moderate food”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

This is a great place to either sit and watch the world go by in downtown Brussels, or to be inside and admire the baroque decor. Unfortunately the staff are arrogant and the food and drinks expensive and in no way outstanding. They could do with a change of management (younger perhaps) and a different attitude.

“Not cheap but worth the money”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

This cafe is well worth a visit, and make sure you sit inside on one of the round leather seats and look around at the mirrors, the magnificent chandeliers and all the other people! The drinks are expensive and you will be served by an arrogant waiter who will look down his nose at you, but that is just part of the Metropole. Go to the toilet, even if you don’t need to, just to see the opulence of the marble stairs and fittings on the way there.

“Try a slice of their strawberry tart - you won't regret”
Reviewed July 14, 2012

Lovely place. A great experience - sipping great coffee (in elegant cups) and people watching. Their strawberry tart is out of this world.
