“Most impressive building in Brussels”

Reviewed July 3, 2014

This huge building, though not very old (basically from 1800s) is one of the most impressive in Europe, in my opinion. Visitors in Brussels should not miss visiting it. However, the building seems to be "abandoned"... Lots of garbadge spread in the surrounding inner areas.

This is a huge building and the biggest out of the ones that we saw. You can walk around it and admire the size and the beauty of the building.

We couldn't go in die to the undergoing constructions.

Tourist books claim this is the largest building in all of Europe; however, it is more like the largest renovation site in Europe. The Justice Palace can be seen from miles away but it is covered in scaffolding as the outside is getting a much needed makeover. The imposing structure is a great place to start your tour of Brussels as on a clear day you can see the entire skyline of Brussels to include the Atomium. Also, the monuments directly in front of the palace honor those who have fallen in both world wars. A fitting tribute in this 100th Anniversary year of the start of World War I.

The building is undergoing renovation at present and a hugh part of it has been covered up. Only the top dome is highly visible as a land mark now.

You're free to walk around and in the front part of the building, but there is a lot of construction being done and I wouldn't visit after dark!
